Great food, small town friendly service. Nothing flashy or exciting when dining except the small town diner atmosphere that everyone has a memory of, even if not from this town that you grew up in. Fine dining no, but excellent eats and very fair priced yes.

Myself and friends decided to go to Almonte to do some Christmas shopping on Sat. We decided to grab a quick lunch. The quick lunch ended up taking over 1 hr. 30 mins just to get our orders taken. No drinks. 2 tables of customers were served before us , that came in after us. No apologies, not until we got our food was it me mentioned they were short staffed. Might have been better to let people know , and give them a choice. It soured our visit to Almonte.

I love going to the superior. Been going there for many years! Spent hours upon hours sitting in the back room (when you could still smoke in the restaurant) drink endless cups of coffee and smoking way too many cigarettes! The food is always dynamite the service is great and the price point is affordable for the portion size.

Great service, good food, cute place. Tori, our server, was efficient, polite, and fast. The breakfast was pretty good and the burger was as expected but the fries were really good, especially with the gravy. We will go back the next time we are visiting from Ottawa,

We came here with 2 young kids for lunch on a Sunday. When we came in, it was not every busy. We ordered 2 club sandwich meals and waited and waited. Other tables who arrived after us were seated, served, and paid before we even received our food. When we finally received our food, after about 45 mins, it was not that great.
The server was not friendly. She was unapologetic that we had to wait so long, stating that the kitchen "didn't get our order", in other words she didn't send it in. We had to get our own cutlery, napkins, and straws (for the kids), as she couldn't be bothered to bring them to us or check in with us. I feel like this is a pretty basic part of a servers job.
I definitely do not recommend.

I loved it there and will certainly return. I have told others about the restaurant. The food and service were great and so are the prices. The decor is from a prior time yet clean and not rundown.
The good: the place is old school, which I like and the prices are reasonable. The bad: the service was slow even though it wasn't very busy and the food wasn't great. It felt like we were eating leftovers from the day before. We likely won't be going back.
