Been at least ten years that my wife and I have been coning here to this touristic town and this is no tourist trap! The food has been 100% consistently delicious and the service by the perennial gorgeous Lynne is above par. 👍👍

Was there on the week end and had the worst service. Our server McKenzie (blonde, on the patio around 3) was completely MIA during our late lunch. As we were leaving we saw that her husband (?) and child was there and she was more concerned with talking to them then serving us. Our fries were cold and the tenders were so over sauced we couldn’t eat them. We couldn’t even get her attention ! This place was not it.

We were told that there would be a wait for the patio and we could get a drink at the bar while we waited. We sat at a high top and were not approached by a bartender to get a drink. We approached the bar and they made no eye contact while ignoring us. After 20 minutes we managed to get two beers ordered-it wasn't busy. The service by McKenzie was slow and she had a perpetual look of annoyance on her face. She was not attentive and didn’t even bother to check with the kitchen about a food allergy and dismissed me. I ended up not ordering anything. We had to ask another server for a take away box as McKenzie was MIA. We waited 15 minutes to get our check. In short avoid this place when you visit Almonte. Also the woman’s washroom was absolutely disgusting! Avoid this place.

They have a dog problem.
We go to this restaurant for the ambiance, views and to support heritage conservation. A wonderful day on the patio was ruined by three dogs at the adjacent table. Although tied, their husky kept coming into our space and staring at me from perhaps two feet away. (We were sitting on the opposite side of our table from the subject adjacent table.) I moved a vacant chair to stop this, but then the leash was lengthened. After a few more dog intrusions I moved a second vacant seat to try to keep the dog out of our space. We were seated at our table enjoying lunch when the two couples with the three dogs sat at the adjacent table, blocking our view and imposing their dogs on us. They should never have sat at that proximate table considering there were other vacant tables on the patio. If a restaurant is going to allow dogs, they need to have rules so they don't bother other customers.

Hmm, the meals are better than OK but not great. My pub curry had a little heat but not a face full of flavour.

Went at 3:15pm on a Tuesday, saw 5 people inside and a few on the patio. Observed one employee behind the bar who informed us to “wait” to be seated. We “waited” for nearly 20 minutes and subsequently left. No need to go back, there’s other establishments.

Food came in cold, grilled chicken sandwich and French fries were cold. Returned it to the kitchen for another meal, even worst. French fries came back raw, damn... good place for a beer, but you could be unsatisfied with your food.

We are locals and long time customers. We have never complained to you about poor service or food despite experiencing both. Today is different. A huge international sporting event was taking place and a simple request at the bar to turn up the volume was too much for your staff. Also hearing your staff complain about the other customers was extremely unprofessional. As a business , you are the keeper of our town’s heritage building. You have the honour of having the best view. Why can you not sort yourself out to be the real friendly local that you think are. Do better.
Sincerely,
Your locals.

It's a nice restaurant. The food was tasty. Waitress only came to check on us when we were done eating to see if we wanted anything else, but overall friendly staff, good food and good drinks. Recommend not sitting near doors if can be avoided as there might be flies, wasps, etc.
