We popped in here for a drink on our recent visit to Almonte. We had some of the house lager, which was fine. Service was very prompt and courteous.
This pub is in a good location, and I imagine the outdoor facilities would enhance your experience here during the summer, as it is right next to the water.
Although I did not try any food, I'd recommend this pub as a pint stop on an Almonte walkabout.

I tried the Black Bird (blackened chicken) burger, the gluten-free bun...sooo tasty! There was also an amazing open mic that ran from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. showcasing local talent! The atmosphere was warm, friendly and inviting.

Had a great time at the Barley Mow tonight. Our server, Alysa, was incredibly friendly and offered excellent recommendations. I really enjoyed the local stout she suggested, and the fish and chips were fresh and delicious. The pub has a warm, cozy, homey feel. Highly recommend.
