Always outstanding, very good quality products, can't beat the schnitzel. Large portions and good tasting food from the perogies to poutine, burgers and of course the little bear/big bear schnitzel. An absolute must stop enroute that will tantalize your taste buds!

I unfortunately have to update my review here for my more recent experiences. I can't really recommend them anymore. During the summer, the Swiss Bear frequently runs out of just the Express. The food is still great but
- they will not let you use their restroom. They direct you instead to one of the gas station bathrooms quite a ways away. They will turn away even small children
- they will get angry with you for having a water bottle if it is not purchased directly from them. This is a health risk especially when expecting people to stand in the sun for long periods of time to order or waiting for food. Also when having people eat outside in the peak of summer

This place is a wonderful bear-themed restaurant with great food for after a camping or cottage trip or even a long drive. The staff treat you like family, and the tarts are divine. If you're nearby, the Swiss Bear is a must stop!

Love this place. We always pass by on the way back from a weekend at Algonquin. Their schnitzel sandwiches are delicious. Cute place where you can sit outside where you wait for your food and the folks there are always nice. If you don't know about it, you'll drive right by it!

Really enjoyed our experience at this location. Was it more expensive than expected?... yep... but was it worth it? We believe so. The owner was very pleasant, offering suggestions and making sure we had a nice time. She also offered us some nice perks that made us feel welcomed and valued. Portion sizes were very filling and larger than expected so also made you feel you got value for the price. I will say of note that the pouting seems to be made with cheese whiz so if you're not a fan I'd pass but for those who do it made it a bit unique and the kids liked it as it made the fries have more cheese coverage than with just curds. Blueberry tarts were great and the perogies seemed hand made with lots of butter and onions which we love! The atmosphere was relaxing and the little extras, like the stamps and notes on the bags made this a nice stop on our trip.

I really wanted the schnitzel to be great but it wasn't. Undercooked, not tasty, breading crumbling, and all jammed in a small container; thus, difficult to eat while the schnitzel was placed directly over poutin. Beware that there are NO washrooms available to use! First and last time we will be visiting here.

I had a disappointing experience at Swiss Bear Cafe Bistro. My visit was marred by multiple issues that left me regretting my decision to dine there.

First and foremost, I found a hair deep-fried into my food. When I brought this to the staff’s attention, they refused to replace the dish. This level of disregard for basic hygiene and customer service is unacceptable.

Beyond that, the food itself was far from impressive. The flavors were bland, and the quality didn’t justify the prices. It seems I’m not alone in this opinion—after checking other reviews, it’s clear that other customers have had similar negative experiences with both the food and service here.

I had hoped for a cozy meal in what looked like a charming bistro, but instead, I left feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.
