love this place and we treated our daughter and her boyfriend for a birthday dinner .Janine our server is so amazing and attentive and even remembered our names! we all had a few laughs and of course the food was perfect. you can always count on Rick the chef to deliver and Janine for going out of her way to pamper us ! great time

A great atmosphere and great service. Very pleasant and busy. Food was okay. Had braised short rib pasta. The pasta wasn't to soft with not much short rib in the sauce. My wife had gorganzolla gnocchi. She could barely taste the gorganzolla in her sauce. For 100 dollar plus meal it was average.

This place was recommended to me \u0026 I am so grateful it was. They were able to give me a reservation on a Friday last minute for the time I requested \u0026 sat me down as soon as I got in the door. The staff is friendly and our server Shawna went above and beyond to help us. Food was FANTASTIC that I had to obviously take a pizza home. Definitely hit the spot, I cannot wait to go back. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a great spot in Barrie.

Great view of the water, delicious food, generous portions, attentive staff. I recommend the lamb shank , fall apart tender in a yummy reduction, creamy potatoes , really good and the salmon was done to perfection, lightly crisp on the outside and flaked apart. Try the polenta con funghi appetizer! Nice touch was the warm home made bread they brought before the meal, one was a soft decadent Parmesan and herb coated knot YUM !

Restaurant had a European feel. We were well tended to and never felt rushed to make room for the next customers. Megan, Courtney as well as our hostess and the other gentleman who helped were all so good. Atmosphere was good. Pasta a perfectly cooked. My wife really enjoyed her penne. My spaghetti bolonese was also good but I found it not meaty enough. I am picky. Lol. Wine pairings were good too. Would definitely return. Great views of Lake Simcoe too.

I've been to restaurant 147 many times, however this time was my last, Food was cold and service was terrible, the server was rude and condescending. We reasoned with them to only pay for what we ate, however they still over charged us on the items, after several corrections we paid and left, still over charged, just wanted to leave, the overall experience made for a disappointing date night. If you must nickel dime the people you depend on, buyer beware..

This restaurant must of changed in ownership and/or management because we have eaten here a few times over the years with good service and food but last night it was absolutely terrible. Our server was rude and condescending. Took 30 mins to get a drink (was not very busy). My husband’s food came out cold and had no taste so he refused to eat it and the server said “well didn’t you know what you ordered.” They still charged us for the meal and overcharged us on other items we ordered. After several reprints of the bill from the manager we just paid to get out of there but we were definitely overcharged. The service in this place is absolutely terrible and they will nickel and dime you to try and get every cent they can from you. Don’t waste you hard earned money here.

Everything was just ok. My tiny, tiny filet mignon was strangely cooked. Half well done half rare. My wife’s pasta was meh. The dance club music is not conducive to an Italian Bistro feel and the lights were too bright. Just all round mediocre. Also, online menu is not the same as the menu at the restaurant. You should fix that.
Absolutely incredible experience at 147! The restaurant can feel small but I find that’s common with Italian places. The server was lovely and the food was TOP NOTCH for everyone. Absolutely delicious, 11/10 recommended and I will be back!! Espresso martini was perfection too

Me being Italian has nothing to do with this review the staff and the team at 147 are absolutely phenomenal. From the minute we walked in which we did come a little early they still seated us to the moment we walked out absolutely five star service The food is incredible we had a mix of things and there's nothing that did not disappoint our party everything was phenomenal everything from the bread to the specialty Gorgonzola steak the team at 147 deserve praise I think this it's probably the one of the best if not the best Italian restaurants in Barrie. Excellent job to the team of 147

Went to this restaurant for the first time tonight and it was amazing!! The service was incredible, our waiter was very attentive and friendly, the food was incredible and the view of the lake front was great from our table. The risotto special was one of the tastiest things I’ve ever tried, I can’t wait to go back!!!
