For my parents’ 57th anniversary, I got them a gift card to Bayside Variety — and wow, did the team there make it unforgettable! They arrived a bit early, and instead of making them wait, the staff welcomed them with a complimentary celebratory glass of wine. My dad ordered the filet, but cutting food isn’t always easy for him, so they quietly and kindly sliced it before serving. The food? Fabulous. The service? Next level. The warmth? Came here for my birthday dinner instead of the Kitchn as it was suggested to be of the same standard. The staff were nice but the service took too long in between drinks, ordering apps and finally our mains. Skipped on dessert since we didn’t want to wait longer. Drinks and food were alright, nothing I’d want to go back for. But the potato’s served with the steak were delicious! I definitely wish I went to Kitchn instead to celebrate but still appreciate some special memories made

The arctic char was absolutely amazing! Cooked perfectly nice and crispy skin but flaky fish and accompaniments paired deliciously. 10/10

A gem in the midst of Downtown Barrie.

The atmosphere , the ambience, the decor.

Everything about Bayside oozes sophistication and elegance. The drinks and cocktails are lovely too!! The portion sizes are just right!
Would have loved a few more scallops on my risotto but overall cant wait to go again.

The menu does keep changing quite often so it's a bonus to keep going there and trying out what they have!!

On the plus side, the bread is good. However, our Artic Char was a disappointment, overcooked and dry.

The wine list is pretty short it is offering only some five or six whites. If you like classic Pinot Grigio, avoid the one on that list, for it is quite atypical, neither dry or sharp.

Our server was funny. She made the dinner better.

On a Friday night, the street was really made noisy by the pimp-up cars parading for the girls. You may take that into consideration before choosing to eat outside.

We had our 50th wedding anniversary celebration at this magnificent venue. After our meetings with Olivia we knew we were in good hands. She guided us through our food, wine and beverage options, always available to answer any of our concerns. On the evening of the event, thirty nine people enjoyed warm hors d’oeuvres, a large charcuterie followed by a delicious three course dinner. Our guests were impressed, as we were at the professionalism of the staff and excellent quality of the food. Kudos to Olivia, Casey, Jeremy, the Chef and assistants.

Delicious food, kind service and great location! We had the duck to start (so good), I had the pasta with green peas (I forget the name lol), and my husband had the burger. We loved all the food we ordered, there was a good variety of choice for both food and drinks.

Our dining experience started out strong with the appetizers. The burrata was very fresh and the duck bao’s were really good. The pasta had a nice sauce, but was a bit undercooked. The steak was good, but nothing special. We did not enjoy the carrot cake for dessert. It wasn’t moist and tasted store bought. Would come again for drinks + apps.

We celebrated our 7th year of being together here. The main meals were absolutely amazing!! However, everything is a bit pricy here. But aside from that I would rate it a 5/5 star!

Bayside Variety in Barrie is a must-visit! The food is absolutely fantastic, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Portion sizes are generous, and the prices are totally reasonable for the quality you get.

The atmosphere is just right. Social and lively but still polished and sophisticated. Whether you’re going for a casual night out or something a bit more special, Bayside hits the mark.

Great service, great vibe, and an all-around excellent dining experience. Can’t wait to go back!
