My first time trying Nigerian food and it was pretty good. I’ve tried their Egusi Soup, Jollof Rice, Stewed Turkey and Efo Riro. Definitely recommend this restaurant for adventurous types or those who want to try something new. You can also order food in bulk so you can bring a large container of jollof rice to your next potluck :)

Can’t believe what’s just happened to me at this restaurant. So I usually order food directly from restaurants as some have advised in the past it’s better for them. This makes a lot of sense as Uber Eats usually charges a percentage for their service.

I went in today after placing an order for Native Rice which was $21 on Uber eats. To my surprise the store was telling me it cost $25+tax for the food. Mind you I’ve never heard before that the in store price will be a lot more expensive than the delivery apps as some restaurants even charge higher for delivery apps to cover the added costs.

I brought this discrepancy to the attention of the lady, who had no credible explanation for it and her only solution was that I could place it on Uber eats. Mind you, it took me about 15mins to drive to the store during my work break. Her final solution was that I could pay cash which would have still been more expensive than ordering from ubereats.

As you guessed I walked out based on the principle, to never return again. I wasted gas, my entire work break, and even more money as I had to go back to work and order from a different restaurant on ubereats.

Really sad because I was becoming a regular at this store (at least 3 to 4 times a week). The other day I even waited over 15-20mins towards the close of the day to drop one of their staff at her place of residence.

My apologies for the lack of coherence but I’m really angry about my experience and wanted to put this out immediately. Thank God a lot of Nigerian restaurants have opened up recently. Will never give this place my business ever again!

*edit: Firstly, this is such an weird response. You updated the price after I left and I have pictures to show it. You have no website so I go to the delivery apps for your menu and prices before I place an order. You couldn’t even apologize for your mistake and you intentionally skipped the main issue and replied to what’s not relevant. Will bringing up to management compensate me for my time or gas I used to come to your place?

Secondly, I came about two days ago and made a note to update the prices on your menu as it’s not been updated since forever. Now it’s obvious it’s intentional so you can raise prices at a whim with no consequences.

Lastly, yes me waiting to take your staff home was my personal decision and would do it again as she had been a great person to deal with anytime I visited. I brought it up so you can learn a thing or two about empathy.

This place is great. The flavour in the jollof is amazing. I tried it with the goat and plantains. Loved the dish! Warm and inviting spice bit not overpowering. So tasty.

Very few restaurants get the smoky jollof flavour. Danny’s gets it and very well.

I had an amazing experience at Danny’s Restaurant! The warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic meal, and the Jollof Rice and Moi Moi were absolutely perfect. The Jollof had that rich, smoky flavor with just the right amount of spice, while the Moi Moi was soft, flavorful, and well-seasoned. Beyond the food, the service was outstanding. Abi, my server, was warm, attentive, and made me feel right at home. It’s not often you find such genuine hospitality, and I truly appreciated it. If you’re looking for delicious Nigerian cuisine with top-notch service, I highly recommend Danny’s Restaurant—I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great food. But when you raise prices 25% (from $32 to $40) either change your signs OR you need to inform customers BEFORE they order. Not suddenly charge them $40 out of the blue. And $13 for a can of beer is INSANE.

UPDATE: This was NOT a Nigerian-made import beer, which I would’ve paid $13 for. It was a can of Guinness, served in the can, not even a glass.
