Foods good quality meat was kinda dry but same old ayce. Staff need some work as far as hospitality goes. Very difficult to order and everything just felt like an uphill battle. I’m here for a 40$ lunch I expect better. When you make customers pay for in eaten portions you should make sure those portions are cooked properly. I miss diamond

We’ve recently made the switch from another local sushi place to Sakuro, and now we’re wondering why we didn’t go sooner! The food is fresh and delicious, the service is truly exceptional, and the atmosphere is clean, warm, and welcoming. The service was also amazing and the waitress was the kindest waitress I've had at any restaurant.if you love sushi, you need to check this place out

Ok. So i used to go to Diamond Sushi before it was bought and changed into Sakura Izakaya… we did use to love it and all the staff, so we weren’t sure what to expect when it changed owners. Last night the whole family went out for some ayce sushi to this restaurant, and honesty it was a 10/10 in every single aspect. Let’s start with our server. She was friendly, polite, attentive and very fast….now, the food…EVERY dish was amazing. The salmon sashimi was all beautiful ans all the rolls were delicious…I think I probably had the most delicious spicy salmon hand roll I’ve ever had. We got a LOT of hot dishes and they were all bangers! My husband said the egg rolls were the best ones he’s ever had…also, their have sui mai (which I can never find up north), and it was SO amazing…it tastes like authentic dim sum quality. We ordered another order of them at the end even though we were super full lol. The price was pretty much in line with why you’d expect to pay for all you can eat. It was approximately $200 for a family of 5 for a Saturday night dinner. Overall, absolutely loved our experience. This officially our go-to ayce sushi spot in Barrie 😍 🍣

Not much parking.. small lot for 2 restaurants and other stores..
Spent 20 years in Japan. Have tried many different resurants in both Barrie and Orillia. Have my favorites in both cities but the food here was excellent. Sushi was fresh. No complains. Lots of dishes that I haven't had before but authentic tasting. Staff were attentive and friendly. Liked that u can order napkins, water etc., on the tablet. Overall a great experiance. We will be back...

A complete surprise when we were visiting Barrie for the week. Had originally planned to go to a neighbouring restaurant, but the sign drew us in, and the food kept us here as it and the service were spectacular. Highly recommended.

Server was shocked we didn't order from the all you can eat menu. Sorry, but discount sushi is a stupid idea. The sushi place that used to be there is sorely missed. The only reason I would go back is to try the Chinese menu that sounded and looked way more authentic. I am always tentative to try things I know aren't popular on a menu with over 100 items. My advice is to pare down the menu to what the cooks know....but it's hard in Barrie as the mentality there is typically quantity over quality. It's part of the reason I moved away.

My wife and I are sushi lovers and travel frequently, always on the lookout for great spots — and Sakuro Izakaya absolutely delivered.
The sashimi was incredibly fresh and well-cut, and the sushi rolls were beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Everything was presented with care, and you could tell the ingredients were top-notch.
What really stood out was the service — friendly, attentive, and well above par.
We’ve tried many sushi places throughout our travels, but from now on, whenever we head south, we won’t be looking for new spots. This is the one we’ll be returning to every time.
