I wanted to try the baked goods from Don's Bakery Muskoka sold at my local Food Basics in Dundas St. in Etobicke, ON. I thought I would take a look at their online reviews before deciding (May 1st 2024).
The very first review I came upon was from Jennifer Riddell-Metzler (2 weeks prior). Jennifer complained about not getting much fruits in the hot cross buns she purchased at "Walmart". Jennifer submitted photos of the buns and of the packaging. Fair enough I thought. I wonder what the "response from Owner" would be.
Response from the owner, "Hi Jennifer. Our hot cross buns are not available at Walmart so you must have bought another brand. Please consider changing your review as it affects our overall score. Thank you."
Dear "owner" did you view Jennifer's photo's? Jennifer may have gotten the grocery store name wrong but she did buy your product (please see pics). If you had taken the time to view the pics you wouldn't have left the response that you did.
Here's a suggestion, I think it would fair for you to address Jennifer's concerns in her review... after all the hot cross buns were made at your facility.

Bought hot cross buns at Walmart and no fruit hardly = 2 raisins in a bun, not happy at all! Had to warm them to freshen enough to eat. Is this your company's product in the photos?

I absolutely love Don’s Bakery! They have a fabulous selection of high quality breads and baked goods. I’ve tried pretty much all of their products over the years, and can never get enough of their sourdough bread and butter tarts. They are the best!

Don’s bakery is out of this world. Thoroughly enjoyed scones, red velvet cookies and the cheesy garlic bread. Only problem was I couldn’t stop eating it all!

Wish I took a photo because we ate everything so fast, I did some work on one of there doors and they were so kind to let us try their products, the scone buns, carrot cake, butter tarts and chocolate chip cookies were some of the best I've ever had. The carrot cake was the best carrot cake I ever had, gotta have it with the icing! I shared it with the people in my office and they all loved it, thanks so much!
