Such a wonderful hidden gem! Food was super authentic and the interior has so much charm. Owners and wait staff were very welcoming and friendly. Make sure you try the house hot sauce and take advantage of the bottomless coffee :)

Outside is a corner lot that looks like your local garage, very unassuming but stepping inside you are welcomed into a small restaurant clean tidy and the smells of coffee and delicious food being prepared. The gentleman in the kitchen greets us with a friendly smile as he works his grill and his son seats us at our table, we are surrounded by history and decades worth of family and friemds on the wall and the experience is apparent in every bite of the great food we were served. My steak and eggs were cooked to perfection just as I wanted, can't wait to stop here again whem we pass by Barrie to say hi, eat amd get more of that great hot sauce. It was 2015, 10 years ago I was an interior design program student in Georgian College, I ordered the mushroom omelette all the time, take a coffee, and talk to Fil, he’s a really good man and the lady, I don’t even know her name right now but she’s always warm hearted. 10 years I’ve been to Halifax and settled in Vancouver, temporarily, I married and have a kid, I back to the old place, after landing we went to Fil’s, and it’s good like old time and Fil , even I feel stronger than I do(I have a fatty liver) he’s like some sort of my family member, bring back all the memories, I love this place, I said I wish I could see you in next decades, lol. I wish my kid grow up and , back to this place to see Fil again, wish this place and all the people here , experience better and better life with love and happiness.

Mom and pops!!!! Wow!!! and wow we need more of these places!!! Made my day and was such a good feeling being actually treated as someone instead of just the get your food and get out!!! Felt like a home made meal with tlc! Ty and when I’m back in town a for sure worth to stop back in!!!

Hidden in plain sight, Fil’s Cafe is full of character and energy. The food looks simple but tastes amazing, and the vibe somehow makes everything taste even better. My wife had… saltier opinions about the décor, but I reminded her I tolerate her décor at home and I don’t even get fed for that.
Fil’s special hot sauce? Perfect. Not too mild, not too spicy, gets the job done just right
