Fabulous! I had the 3 cheese omelette with rye, and it was wonderful. The atmosphere is very cool with lots of cottage & fishing elements adorned on the walls. The server, Tasso was a pleasure! I'll definitely be back : )

What an amazing place. This is a restaurant where you come in for a great time and a comforting meal. The food is fresh to order so do not expect a fast pace environment, you come here and time slows down for a second. Appreciate the decor, take a breather and enjoy. Such a charming place! With the eclectic decorations bringing you back to the past, the tasty breakfast, and the amazing hot sauce, this place is a must when you visit Barrie. The waitress was also so kind and warm; she was like a Grandma to us :). 10/10!

This place has a quirky atmosphere. Don’t get some of these reviews recommending generic updates to be done. The couple that run the place are hilarious! And the hot sauce is amazing! They know everyone’s names and the food is great and amazingly priced! Not a lot of places like this exist anymore! They brought toys over to the table for my 18 month old to play with while we waited. Don’t complain about the wait time, it’s a family establishment , sit, relax, bring a book. It’s a vibe.

What a gem! We had a delicious breakfast here. We didn’t have to wait for a table and breakfast came out quickly and hot. The owner brought around some Easter treats for everyone. We loved that it’s family owned. We were excited to be able to buy Fil’s hot sauce too. We’ll be back!!

Ambiance - weird and wonderful. Food was good. Table service was good. A little unhappy with how long it took to receive our food order - about 45 mins to receive 2 omelettes. 😟 On a final positive note - we both loved Fil's hot sauce - we bought some to take home. 👍

Stopped into Fil's today with my wife (we had been wanting to try it out!), and it is quite the little restaurant! The staff are extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is unique, what with all the things on the walls and such.
The food is very good as well, but there was a bit of a wait involved. I want to say we waited 35 minutes for a breakfast plate and a western with fries, which seemed a little long. Still, I have no problem giving this a 4.5 out of 5.
Overlooked this little Gem for decades. We stopped in for breakfast and they were filled to capacity with one server handling the entire cozy little cafe, after about 5 or 10 minutes she stopped by, greeted us with a smile, informed us there would be a little wait and offered us drinks while we wait at the entrance! While a larger modern restaurant may have got to us faster and put our name on a waiting list, they wouldn't have had us hot drinks while we waited. We received our drinks, were seated a few minutes later and learned its a simple two person team, Fil Cooks, his Wife serves. We had the Big Bear Breakfast, it was excellent! While the service was a little slower than some modern establishments, the tea came in Much larger pots than any where else we dine, which allowed for lots of conversation before our excellent meals arrived! Every restaurant has its unique appeal, and this is one we will definitely be back to for a Lazy Saturday or Sunday breakfast! We left with a bottle of Fil's Hot Sauce because it was excellent and already used it with breakfast at home the next day! 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌞 Phil from Crystals
