Went to Groovy Tuesdays this week to meet a new business partner and friend. The vibes we're high, the staff we're fabulous and the food was astonishing. They brought out some complimentary bread with peach/burbon/Cinnamon butter that was a freaking chefs kiss! And don't get me started on the mushroom bruchetta - 12 hours later, and I'm still drooling over the last bite.Needless to say, I will be back!

I’ve lived in Barrie a while and found the restaurant scene had gotten tired. The Commom Stove in Orillia or the Ktchn in Oro were my choice restaurants to visit and there was nowhere in Barrie that excited me anymore. Bayside Variety was always a good spot but their chef left and the new menu didn’t interest me. Earlier this week, I was sent Groovy’s new menu and decided to give it a try since it was one of the few Barrie eateries I had not tried. When I first got there I found it small and the vibe off but I soon settled in and really loved how close you were to the kitchen, where you could watch them prepare each dish. I actually ordered their board because I could see how good it looked while they prepped it for another table. The wine list came to our table which I glanced at quickly but decided to stick with water since I’ve never had an exceptional glass of wine from a wine list in Barrie. While we waited for the board, I looked at the list again and noticed it had no wine from Ontario, which is a good sign, but nice choices from great regions around the world. I asked for two recommendations and both the Cab and Malbec were excellent.Bread came to the table which was perfectly crusty and homemade but the real star was the strawberry butter it was served with. It was so outstanding I ordered more bread. The board arrived and every cheese, meat and accompaniment was carefully selected. The candied figs complimented everything well and the warm olives were exceptional. I was honestly full at this point but ordered the recommended mushroom ravioli. It was earthy like you’d expect but the filling had a bright flavour contrast which balanced the dish perfectly. We also tried their take on the cob salad and the gnocchi which all had great flavour.I should have stopped eating but after we saw the desserts leaving the kitchen, we ordered 3 that looked good and shared them. They were all outstanding but the lemon cheesecake was the standout for me. All three rivaled my favorite dessert, the budino from Bayside. The staff were also lovely and welcoming.Groovy Tuesday’s Bistro - 5/5Food - 5/5Vibe - 4/5Service - 5/5Price - $$.5/$$$

It’s very rare that I give five stars across-the-board. But it wasn’t that hard of a decision. The food here is absolutely amazing., I’m newer to Barrie And I’ve had a few people tell me to try this place out. I went tonight for dinner. The food is hands-down some of the best I’ve had in Barrie. The atmosphere was great and service Was on point as well. Will 100% be going back to this place. If you’re looking for a cool little spot for some really amazing food this place is a must.

I'm not a fan of soup, never have been. But the potato leek soup from chef justin completely changed my view on soup as a whole. I have yet to have a bad or even subpar meal here. I've been coming back just for the soup to see what they come up with next.Dietary restrictions: The chefs are very talented and will alter their recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions if notified

This small restaurant is a true gem. It serves upscale bistro food and you can see the chefs putting everything together. They have some innovative dishes that are worth going back for. I keep saying they need to make an appetizer featuring just the deviled eggs from the Cobb salad - amazing!! The wines are nice, but on the pricey side.

Had lunch here a few days ago. The service and food quality was outstanding! It is a smaller cozy spot with a patio.

Wow! When we walked into the restaurant we were immediately greeted…such an inviting and friendly atmosphere. We sat at the chef’s table and had fantastic interactions with the chef, Justin all evening. The food was absolutely amazing! We had the Gnocchi and Chicken Supreme. Both were so abundantly flavourful and the presentation and portions were perfect! We would recommend this hidden little gem and would definitely be back!

What a wonderful spot for lunch. Amazing menu, lots of variety. Server was friendly but not intrusive. A friend and I drove from different towns to Barrie to have a catch-up. It wasn’t busy and the server told us we could linger as long as we wanted to. Food was delicious. My friend had soup and salad and I had the poached eggs with steak tips. We both enjoyed. My only tip would be to ask for dressing on the side since there was a bit too much for my liking, although it was very tasty. I have already recommended this restaurant to someone I crossed paths with n the way home. Definitely worth a visit!
