Came into jacks for date night and the vibes were so good! The Christmas decorations are beautiful and our server Chelsea was so personable and helped us decide on an amazing dinner. Thanks to chelsea and the other staff who made our dining experience memorable :)

My favourite server Deb is THE BEST and just the sweetest person of all time! I love coming to Jack Astor's for the wonderful atmosphere and the best staff ever. Everyone is so lovely to me. The new renos are so amazing! It's a little home away from home when I don't want to sit in the office any longer and need a change of environment. The menu is diverse and I look forward to my (frequent) visits. The other guests are super nice too. 10/10. Thanks Meghan and team!!

It pains me so much to give anything less than 5 stars. Jack Astors was my absolute favourite restaurant, I’d easily visit 4-5 times a month. We’re black level on inspired rewards, we’ve been coming for years. With this new renovation adding Frieda’s I’ve been extremely let down. I enjoyed coming to a place with a grungy garage feel- now it’s modern and a lot more fancy, especially on the bar side.. I miss the big couch that sat facing the bar. It was so comfortable. It’s been replaced by hard cushioned booths and wooden chairs. In terms of food- portion sizes have downgraded. The nachos were my fave, could easily share with 2-3 people and be full after. Now it barely serves 2. The sides like salads and fries are half the portion they were before. The plates that they are serving on are not great. They are so small, and oddly shaped it becomes impossible to drop anything on the plate as it’ll miss entirely. What happened to the round tin trays?? Bring them back! Many items have been removed or altered on the menu. There is a much more modern feel to the presentation of the food. Overall really disappointed. As a long time Jack Astors goer, I’ll be travelling to newmarket now just to be able to experience the food and environment I look for in this restaurant. Servers are still the friendliest and sweetest people alive.

We were served by Chrissy, and she was super kind and educative on the new menu and layout of the restaurant.
While the food we ordered was delicious, it was pretty disappointing to see some fan favourite items gone from the menu.
For example, the poutine! There was 3 items on the menu for poutine prior to the renovation and it's been axed from the menu now.
Make additions to the menu all day, but leave the stuff that made the place what it was.
