My wife and I stumbled on this polished diamond. First visit had us buying a variety of butter tarts and a peach pie. Both were beyond words delicious. The next time it was more butter tarts and 2 apple pies. Best crust on a pie I've tasted for a very long time. Just had an apple crumble croissant. Melted in our mouths. Can't stay away.

This is the best place I have found in Barrie for the yummy yummy yummy snacks !! If you like home made fresh treats OMG DROOL!! then Jake’s bakes is the place for you just WOW! I love butter tarts and store bought ones all taste the same and these are so good my only con is the tart had a little tiny bit of liquid filling that hadn’t quite set fully but I would still give it 100 stars if I could lol that small thing did not effect the taste or awesome quality I love it will 100% be coming back!!

June 26, 2025 Amazing fresh baked treats! Jake and his staff start before dawn baking fantastic stuff, fresh baked each day! Excellent Butter Tarts, they always have a good selection of different flavours. Recently I got Plain and some with raisins. The tart shell was buttery, flaky, and delicious. Also tried a Lemon Loaf, omg, moist, super fresh, and the lemon flavour was so delightful. They deserve that you try it yourself and see how good it was...

I purchased your butter tarts from Kennedy’s here in Barrie. They were delicious but at the bottom of the tart was a layer of crystalized sugar. Does this have something to do with the mixing of ingredients? I did not particularily like it and am just curious. 😊

This place is incredible. We ordered over a hundred butter tarts for our wedding and they were perfect. Each variety is delicious, the moose tracks and lemon raspberry were a hit with our guests.
The pastries are fantastic but the best part of our experience was Jake, the owner. He is one of the friendliest people on earth, and was very kind and appreciative of the order. We live in the area and will be going back frequently to try more of his pastries and most importantly support a wonderful business.

I stumbled upon Jake's Bakes by accident. My sister was having some car troubles, so I was coming to her rescue (in the parking lot where Jake's Bakes is located). While we waited to have the car issue resolved, we walked into Jake's Bakes for a vanilla iced coffee. Jake and his team were super nice to us - we got to know about the bakery, their goods, and quickly learned how good their coffee is (the treats were tasted later, and were also delicious). We appreciated their kindness, friendly attitude, and their help when we needed an extra push to get the car going. Highly recommend visiting this place - all baked items were a hit with our family, and the iced coffees were perfect for a hot day! We will be back :)
