Best ice cream so far in Barrie
They’re always making great ice cream. Though I’d say better can be found down in Toronto.
A must stop place if you ever get the chance. So many fresh flavors of ice cream, fresh milk and some baked goods. It has something delish for every taste bud. We always leave there with smiles and filled tummies!
I have always loved Kawartha Dairy ice cream but this year it feels like they dropped the ball. The candy cane ice cream is terrible. It tastes like they made it months ago. There is an old mealy texture to it and there is no candy cane crunch. Isn't the crunch the whole reason our kids love this treat? Very disappointing.
A real Canadian ice cream shop - they have 3 large fridges of up to 20+ ice cream flavors and they let you taste. The ice cream isn’t too sweet and has a nice thick texture to it. Not too dense, just the taste of milk and authentic dairy. Love their maple syrup biscuit and mocha flavors.
Kawartha Dairy in Barrie is hands-down the best place for ice cream! The flavors are so creamy and delicious—you can really taste the quality in every scoop. We used the drive-through, which was super convenient, and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful, even with a line of cars. They were patient and friendly, making the experience that much better. With a great variety of flavors and amazing service, Kawartha Dairy is definitely my go-to spot for ice cream. Highly recommend!
Best ice cream ever 😋 🍦🍧🍨
the icecream here is so good and they have so many flavors. its also really cheap especially if you get your icecream in a cup and it comes with alot. sometimes when i get the smallest size of icecream (around $5) i still get too full to finish it all. i also like that they offer toppings (cherry + whipped cream).
I have been visitng the Kawartha Diary store in Minden for almost 30 years and have such a pleasant experience everytime. I have had to deal with the Barrie store a few times lately since I live in the area and each time I am extremely disappointed. The first time I visisted the store was Father's day and they weren't very friendly. There was no signage on the fridge door for the cakes so I picked up one that had no sign but was decorated and got yelled at for not asking for help. Eventually they showed me which ones were for customers and not special orders. I went back in August to pick up a cake for my Dad's birthday. There were no other customers in the store, I was not greeted by anyone. I walked over to the fridge and could not tell if the cakes were special orders or not so I went over to the counter to ask for help. There were two girls working, one was assisting the drive thru and the other one was right in front of me filling up something. I stood there for a few minutes and was not acknowledged, finally I spoke up and asked for help and was given very short and rude toned answers, I left becasue there were no cakes avaiable. The third and last time I had an interaction with the store I called to ask for availability on a seasonal flavour before driving to the store. The phone was answered by a rude "Hello..." and then I recieved very short answers after that. I will not be giving my business to this location anymore until something is done about the customer service here. The employees are beyond rude with every interaction I have had with them and I think they need propper customer service training. I worked in a Marble Slab for all of University and would NEVER interact with my customers the way I am treated at this store. It doesn't take much to smile and give a nice hello. My final piece of advice is label the cake fridge correctly please, no one knows if they are allowed to take any cakes or if they are only by special order or not. Please fix your customer service and your customers will be happy.
Great ice cream, definitely get your money's worth z

The ice cream was really tasty. It was my first time buying milk made by Kawartha, and I was really satisfied with it.
