Not authentic Portuguese food. At all
All the flavours of Portugal are not there, more of standard regular taste . Even the sauce is not Portuguese , rice color is also not Portuguese and the potato’s although round , again, not the authentic sauce or Portuguese
Nothing is Portuguese except the name .
The chicken was good, again, not Portuguese style but at least well cooked, lacked sauce and flavour
I won’t come here if you’re Portuguese looking for Portuguese food.

Came here a year ago, food was not good.
Came again a year later, hoping it changed
The chicken is bland, no flavor, no crisp
The potatoes were all hard, horrible not even cooked
The rice was okay
I had to pour spicy sauce all over to get som flavor
Next time...im going to Costa Verde

Health inspector needs to pay a visit. It’s dirty and disgusting.
We used to eat there all the time with the original owners; ordered from the about a year ago and as soon as I walked in to pick up the food I realized the owners must have sold it solely based on the cleanliness of the place. The new ownership/management clearly doesn't clean or even care like the original owners did. Very sad.
We won’t be ordering from there again.
Such great food, fresh delicious, friendly service, definitely coming back!!!

Ordered the Deluxe Plus meal for our office lunch that came with 2 rotisserie chickens, 2 large sides and pulled beef. The chicken was good. I only wish they had cut the chicken into more smaller pieces. The rice was a bit undercooked. The size of their large side to be honest I found much smaller than what I have had at other Portuguese restaurants ( outside of Barrie) The potatoes were excellent and to be honest the start of this meal. The pulled beef was ok and a bit dry to be honest. Overall the food is 3 out of 5.

I just ordered from your branch and it lacks flavor, the potatoes were not seasoned, just cooked, the chicken was also flavorless, I used to buy from the other location and I loved it, it had flavor, I hope they improve.

Went there thinking it was authentic portuguese owned and operated.
Left disappointed after finding out it wasn't.

I went in with a desire for Portuguese food - chicken particularly. I did not see chicken on the hot table but could clearly see a tall, operational rotisserie unit. I confirmed that chicken was available. The place wa not that well kept, nor visibly clean. I asked for chicken and potato’s - the only side visible. There was neither rice nor vegetables visible. Then I saw a tray of pulled beef as well. I asked for a “side order” of that. Then the problems began.
The young man behind the counter said I could not have it. We went back a forth. With clear hand gestures in case there was ambiguity or a language barrier, I said “a container with 1/4 chicken and potatoes”, placing my left hand on the upper counter and a side container of the beef, placing my right hand on the same counter - clearly demonstrating 2 items. He still insisted NO. I said “I’m the only customer here and you’re fine to let me leave”. “Yes” was his response. Then another person came out from the back. I went through it again. It was made so complicated by them. It was shocking. Meanwhile, up to this point, I never asked for or questioned price. Up to this point there was never any revelation of what they considered sides that go with their chicken dinner. They were just adamant that I could not have a side order of beef - which makes no sense.
Finally, after all this confrontation, I got what. I ordered for $27.
I left, spinning my head. The food’s flavour was very good. The “taste in my mouth” because of the experience was not so good.
I don’t like to judge a book by its cover but maybe if place is less than clean and there is no evidence of the ethnicity behind the product being served that should be a note to buyer…. But in so many restaurants the
Kitchen and the staff are not localized with the type of food being offered and they are brilliant. Or maybe is a front of house issue. Or maybe it’s a lack of training. I don’t know but this was not a good experience but it was recovered by decent food and a fair price after I left.
I left and to this moment, the next morning, I still have no idea as to what the side dishes are that should have been available or offered. None were ever discussed.
The chicken and the beef were great. The potatoes really good. I am not sure about the use of the wax paper that turned to mush because the dishes were so moiste and wet but I worked through it.
Be aware of the challenges - or maybe additional training will happen for front counter staff.

Tasty food, good prices. Dining in is a pretty somber experience. A couple tables, dimly lit. Definitely a takeout place.

Bought the Family deluxe meal with rice and potatoes as my sides. I also added fish on the side.
The chicken was good, potatoes were mushy and overcooked , rice was plain. The fish was the worst part. It was so dry . Food was ok (minus the fish)
If you want true Portuguese food, I would pass on this place.

Mediocre at best. Walked in at 11:30 (opening). The washroom was gross. Needs a sanitization from top to bottom.
I was told that the food would be ten more minutes, it was 18 more minutes and cold when it arrived. Not to mention dry chicken.
The water in the hot table looked like it was going to crawl away. It was disgusting.
Mediocre at best. A little pride would go a long way here. Clean your restaurant, be open at 11:30 to serve clients. Dont overcook the food that you are there to serve.

I was so excited seeing that Barrie had a Portuguese chicken store, I’m new in Barrie came from Toronto and let me explain that this place was just a disappointment, the first moment I walked in I knew nothing about this was Portuguese , like I’ve had bad Portuguese chicken in Toronto but man . They out stun this location .
Rotisserie Chicken was okay not a big fan
They apparently don’t make chicken on the bbq grill weird.
Potatoes were hard and unseasoned very bland .
Very disappointed if this place was in Toronto they would shut down right away compared to the competition
