Not sure why the reviewer below mine rates a 1 star, the restaurant was clean and the servers were very kind and spoke fine English…no sand in my sushi lol. My husband and I came here for the first time today for a late lunch and it was delicious! We definitely got our moneys worth! I literally could have had 10 servings of the mango salad alone.. I also highly recommend the deep fried bananas with a side of chocolate ice cream for dessert!

Food ordered did not come, service is so slow, and when you ask about where your orders are, they bring you a smaller version. $41 for lunch and barely ate anything, even the water had to be asked for.

Seated by the door, heavy traffic area on a Friday. Decor was very plain but tasteful. Food was much better then expected in presentation, variety, flavour and speed. Overall a great experience I'll likely try again. Lily and other staff were a delight, attentive and quick. Especially for this first timer. Tablet menu was a slight.learning curve but took no more then 5 min to figure out and start getting food. Tried a variety of shashami, hand tools, dishes like kungpo and chow mein. Thank you Lily and others.

Avoid this place!!!!! Be careful when they bring the bill, you may be cheated.very very expensive for such a place and service. !!! not worth the money!!! the interior atmosphere is dirty and cheap, like a cheap eatery at a flea market. the food is also not good, in the sushi I found sand, the soy sauce tasted like iodine and smelled very strongly of iodine. the staff does not speak and understand English well, so you need to try to explain something and then also understand them. I will never come to this terrible place again and I really hope that my stomach will not hurt today after this place.

A throughly enjoyable experience! Our favourite restaurant in Barrie. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Service is fast! So much more than sushi! A great selection of appetizers, grilled dishes, soups, desserts, as well as sushi, sashimi, and some unique chef specials. I would definitely recommend doing the all you can eat special.

Been coming this location for over 5 years, loved their freshness and service until today. Thanks to new employee John. Must asked him thousands times the same thing over and over and. And then his attitude is a big issue. No thank you. There is a bunch of other places with better customer service. Now looking at their 5 last review of 1 star I understand I’m not alone being disappointed and that explains 3/4 empty tables on Friday night. I will never ever come back and will not recommend this awful place it becomes

We’ve been coming here many times and always left happy, but today was a huge disappointment. First, we asked for a seat in the inner section and were told it was closed — only to see other people seated there 20 minutes later. Then, we were forced to eat the last 3 small pieces of food or be charged, which has never happened before at this or other similar restaurants. The staff were incredibly rude about it.
To make it worse, they usually offer a 10% discount for cash payments — but this time they didn’t. When we asked about it, the staff gave a rude response and handed us the bill with no explanation.
I normally don’t leave reviews, but the attitude today was unacceptable and the service was shockingly bad. Policies seem to have changed for the worse, and from looking at other people’s reviews, it seems like we’re not the only ones having this kind of experience. Very disappointed and not planning to come back.

I’ve been to Sakana House several times before and always had a good experience — until today. Today was unacceptable and honestly, I left the restaurant feeling disrespected and angry.
First, we asked to sit in the inner section of the restaurant. The staff member (a woman) flatly told us that area was closed. Fine, we didn’t argue. But 20 minutes later, she let other guests sit in that same “closed” section. Seriously? Second, when we finished our meal, we only had three tiny pieces of sushi left. Just three. And the staff tried to charge us extra for that — even though it’s an all-you-can-eat restaurant! What kind of service is that? Thankfully, we were so frustrated that my husband just ate them so we wouldn’t have to argue.
And throughout the whole visit, the staff’s attitude was cold, rude, and completely unprofessional. We didn’t feel welcome at all — which is such a shame because we used to love coming here.
This kind of behavior is not okay. I will never return, and I strongly suggest others think twice before coming here. There are plenty of other restaurants that actually respect their customers.
