The Caribbean Express

Tried The Caribbean Express recently and honestly, I was impressed. Finding good Caribbean food in Barrie isn’t easy, but this spot gets pretty close to the real thing. The food was flavorful, portions were fair for the price, and everything tasted freshly made.

It’s a small, tucked-away place. Definitely more of a takeout spot, the service is quick and parking was easy. The owners were really kind and down-to-earth.

If you go, I highly recommend the oxtail. Super tender, and don’t forget to ask for extra gravy-makes a huge difference.

Overall, solid spot. Glad I found it.

I noticed that they didn't have the stew chicken roti listed on the Uber Eats app when I ordered and we're kind enough to make the replacement for me. (It's my absolute favorite!) Always quality food and great service. Can't recommend this place enough! :)

Thank you for including a delicious vegan bean and potato curry with clapped roti in your menu! When we phoned to ask if they had any vegan options they were so accommodating , friendly and a pleasant to speak with! Upon our visit they were more then willing to see that I was happy with my choice. Feb 6, 2025

Authentic Jamaican food

Great lil spot serving up delicious Jamaican food. I had the Jerk chicken lunch and loved it. I’ll be back to try the goat and ox tail. Yeah Mon!

This was hands down the best jerk chicken, rice and peas we've ever had.
Coleslaw was average/tasty.
But God damn that chicken was juicy, tender, flavourful and well seasoned and perfect amount of spice. Will certainly order here again!
Better than the angry Jamaican momma's cooking in Brampton or toronto.
