The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Barrie

The online survey won’t work so I’ll leave a review here - wanted to give our server, Crystal C the credit she deserves! She was amazing and we really enjoyed having her serve us. The food was phenomenal!

What an incredible experience! I cannot express how grateful we are for the care that went into our meals. We had our anniversary dinner and had a shellfish allergy in our party… The staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable! The food, drinks, and staff - were all amazing. Special thank you to Rob in the kitchen, Jasmine at the front, and Kari as our server. An absolute blast!

Made a reservation to celebrate a birthday through open table. Noted it was a birthday through open table app. We arrived 5 mins prior to our reservation and the hostess made very minimal eye contact with us as she told us we had to wait for our table to be ready. Once we were seated, our server asked if we were celebrating anything and we answered with birthday. Once our meals arrived our server did follow up to see if we were enjoying our food. Although we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, we felt like an afterthought receiving bare minimum service and no acknowledgement regarding the birthday. Questionable whether we would return for a subsequent visit

Keg is heading in the wrong direction. Prime rib was over 60% fat. No soap in bathroom and extra slow service. Last time I visit there

Food was delicious as usual. However, tables are too close. You cannot have a private conversation without your neighbours hearing you.

My daughter and I came here for her birthday dinner. We made reservations and only needed to wait for 5 minutes to be seated. Out hostess was absolutely amazing. She was quick getting our drinks. This place was quite packed yet out appetizers were fast getting to put table and our stakes were absolutely wonderful. we will definitely be coming back to this location.

This keg is nice and clean. The food is pretty good though I just tried their burger for the first time and while cooked well, it lack seasoning. I know people whine about salt in foods, but any cook worth their weight in salt know you can NOT cook meat without seasoning it properly. They also know that just adding salt AFTER it’s cooked is NOT the same as during.

Long story short. Super bland burger. And you put toppings on my wife’s burger that she specifically said not to.

Other than that, the keg IS good. The service and wait staff are always fantastic.

Though for the love of all that’s good in the world, STOP putting families with kids next to couples when there are lots of other seating options. The last three times. LOTS of available tables and you put kids right next to us.

We had excellent dinner and they have a great staff. I recommend this place @ Barrie 😍

Called to make a reservation (with 2 weeks notice) for 7 adults and two kids (2 and 4) for a birthday 5pm dinner.

The manager informed us we could not make a reservation because the max they can do is 8 people. No exceptions whatsoever.

They would rather lose the business?

We’ve been going to the Barrie keg for many years , especially on New Year’s Eve as it is my wife’s birthday on the 31 st. This year we went on New Year’s Day, as we couldn’t get a reservation for New Year’s Eve. I must say we were very disappointed this visit. it was my wife’s 60th birthday celebration and it ended in disaster. The food was subpar, they made multiple mistakes on the orders ,and we had multiple managers coming over to apologize and interrupt our dinner. I was so frustrated that I asked the last manager that came over to please stop and we will discuss it later as I just wanted to eat my cold dinner and not send back another dinner, and try to have a family dinner together. These restaurants think they just comp a dinner for free and have no other repercussions, as far as I’m concerned, sending a dinner back and getting a new one does not fix the situation as people sit there and eat while other people cannot. I understand mistakes happen and we are all human, but this evening was a total disaster. We ended up leaving the restaurant all pissed off at each other because I was trying to stand up for us and my family, unfortunately like true Canadians they didn’t want to cause a fuss. I personally will not be going back to this keg ever again and I’m very disappointed in this restaurant. for $700 I could go to multiple other restaurants in Barrie and receive way better food and service. I had two $100 gift cards from the keg left over upon leaving and I literally gave them away when I left the restaurant because I would not need them any further. One thing I would recommend is the Manager’s not rushing over every time there’s an issue and interrupting your dinner. They should just leave it up to the server and worry about it later after dinner is over.maybe that’s something they could revisit as it’s not the managers fault ,they’re just doing as they are instructed to by ownership.

I would rate it higher but when we went, most of the food was sold out. We wanted to get the prime rib but couldn't .

Food was very mediocre, mostly very bland unseasoned food, this goes for most of the main course and the sides as well, mostly the sides in fact are unflavoured, but the place is very pleasing, and the service is great. Don't come for the food, come for the experience.
