Just wanted to share some positivity on here!! Went out to lunch today with my parents and sister at The Mexican House Downtown Barrie and as we were sitting a homeless woman came inside and they were so kind to her and gave her a free hot meal. Truly was so nice to witness as they didn’t even realize anyone was watching and just did it out of the kindness of their heart.
With such a large homeless population downtown Barrie with lacking resources to support them all and feed the hungry. It was so heartwarming to witness this!
Just wanted to share this little positive note as it was so beautiful to see! This restaurant itself is so amazing the kindest staff amazing food so affordable in comparison to other places around Barrie, and this was just the cherry on top to see them, expressed such kindness with no expected acknowledgement from it! ❤️

This is my favourite restaurant in Barrie 💜 The ambiance is like being on vacation and the staff are lovely every single time. This is one of the only restaurants I have ever been to where I would describe the food as tasting super fresh and homemade (authentic Mexican, of course). I almost always choose the spicy mango margarita, the chicken flautas, and I would never leave without churros!

The restaurant decor is fun and festive and creates a great atmosphere. Complimentary homemade natcho chips and salsa are served on arrival. Nice touch. Four at our table ordered Camarones El Mojo de Ajo (shrimp in garlic) and I ordered Camarones Al Ajillo (shrimp in a mild pepper sauce). Both were served with plain rice and a side salad. The salad was fresh. The portions were generous. The shrimp was really good, with great flavours, but the peppers skins on my dish were really annoying, as they were too tough to chew. I ended up putting them on the side of my plate (photo). Table service was excellent, but Bar service was very slow. The bar tender must have been doing double duty somewhere else in the restaurant, however his margaritas were delightful. We will return to this authentic restaurant.
This restaurant is located at the lakefront and downtown Barrie. You have to pay for parking and it's not easy to find parking. There are several questionable street people in the area, but there were no issues.

Staff were friendly and the food came fast. The food is phenomenal and reasonably priced for the amount and quality you receive. Everyone at my table was pleased with their food. Will absolutely be coming back here for some of the best birria tacos I've ever had.

Service was ok, but the food is mediocre at best. They did bring me a glass with brown stains in it which was off-putting. The beef quesadilla was way too salty. My friend didn’t enjoy their food either.
