Mackenzie Typer-Case was amazing! She knew all the answers to even our most obscure questions! She was friendly and knowledgeable! We’ve never been so happy with our experience at a winery! Thank you Mackenzie!!

We stopped by Hidden Bench on a Friday afternoon without a reservation and decided to try our luck. The owner greeted us right away and was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. He managed to fit us in for a tasting and we were served by Laura who was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience fun and relaxed.

The wines were excellent. We ended up buying six bottles to take home, which we would have done anyway, but it was a nice bonus that the tasting fee was waived with the purchase.

The setting added to the experience, the tasting took place in a beautiful heritage house overlooking the vineyards.

Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area. Great people, great wine, great atmosphere.

We spent an hour with Harald tasting an amazing selection of wines with an amazing amount of information on the wines and processes. The passion that produces superb wines is evident in everything they do! You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I visited Hidden Bench on a Sunday morning around 10:30 am.

I'm a fan of their wines and was really looking forward to visiting the winery. Once inside their tasting room I asked the staff if I could do a tasting. They asked if I'd made a reservation and I confirmed that I had not but asked if it was still possible. The two staff members seemed hesitant at first, but after a short conversation they said they could. Apparently you need to book a tasting in advance. I feel it's important to note that we were the only customers in the building at the time.

The tasting consists of a fixed flight of six wines (three white and three red), with no option to pick the specific varietals you want. Regardless, I agreed to proceed. However, when the staff found out that the tasting would be for me alone (as my wife doesn't drink) they refused to serve me. I asked for confirmation as I thought there must be a misunderstanding. I couldn't believe that I'd driven 90 minutes, was willing to pay for a tasting but was refused service because it was only for one person (in an empty tasting room). They said it their policy that tastings must be for two people or more.

I've been coming to the Niagara region for over 20 years and have visited dozens of wineries. I've never had such a negative experience. It was a was a huge disappointment.

You've lost loyal customer.

A Hidden Gem in Every Sense.

Hidden Bench Winery is exactly what its name suggests, an exceptional, tucked-away gem nestled in one of the most beautiful corners of Niagara wine country. From the moment we arrived, the setting took our breath away. Rolling vineyards, charming buildings, and peaceful surroundings set the stage for a truly memorable experience.

We were warmly welcomed by Harald, the owner, whose graciousness immediately made us feel like guests rather than customers. Our tasting was led by Kenzie, whose knowledge, passion, and storytelling elevated the entire experience. She offered insights into the vineyard’s organic practices, winemaking philosophy, and each pour with clarity and charm (her presentation was simply outstanding).

The wine? Top tier. Even varietals I typically pass on were enjoyable, each bottle demonstrated complexity, balance, and the kind of craftsmanship that comes from a deep respect for the land and process. The flight was diverse and thoughtful, and there wasn’t a single miss in the lineup.

One unexpected and appreciated touch was how family-friendly the experience was. We had our 16 month daughter with us, and the staff made every effort to ensure we could enjoy the tasting without worry. It's rare to find that kind of accommodation in a high-end winery setting.

Hidden Bench offers more than just excellent wine, it delivers warmth, beauty, and hospitality in equal measure. It’s a place I’ll be returning to often and recommending to everyone.

The name is right. Could have been also hidden treasure or hidden paradise or hidden best secret. The best Ontario wine ouside Niagara for sure. And some of their wines compete easily with any famous winery. Our 3rd visit and will come back.

My husband, another couple and I took the day to travel around Twenty Mile Bench, attending tastings at various wineries. Hidden Bench was a clear favourite for us all!

We had Amy as our tasting guide and she was amazing! Her passion for wine and extensive knowledge added so much to our tasting. She was interesting, engaging and funny.

The wine was lovely- my favourites were the Malbec and Terrior Cache, but their Pinots were lovely, too. Highly recommend trying their sparkling wine and Fume Blanc as well. (The Chardonnays were, surprisingly, not to my taste- but my husband loved them) We bought several cases of different varieties and look forward to enjoying them all!

We will absolutely return again- hopefully with Amy as our guide again!
