We honestly cannot say enought about the ambiance, the food, and of course Melanie who we always look forward to seeing. “What a great place... The beers & cider are on point, true to German styles! I had the schnitzel sandwich was fantastic... Just the right amount of breading, pork cutlet was nice & tender. Pickled onions & pretzel bun to round it out... Very delicious! They were very accommodating... Changed a menu item for the Mrs so she could have a buffalo chicken wrap. Buffalo sauce would fit right in in Buffalo itself. Freshly dipped chicken tenders, breading was crispy & chicken tender. House cut French fries... The poutine upgrade was worth it, tons of cheese curds & gravy!”

What stood out most was how genuinely cared for we felt throughout the entire visit. From the moment we sat down, there was a sense that this was going to be more than just another meal, and Kristen delivered on that completely.

We learned so much about the property, the wine, and the story behind what we were experiencing, but somehow the wine and all the details were not even what stayed with me most. It was the feeling of being there.

Kristen never made the experience about herself. She made it about us, our interests, what we were curious about, and what would make the experience meaningful. There was no feeling of being rushed or simply being another table. For a little while, it genuinely felt like we were visiting somewhere familiar, where someone was taking care of us rather than simply serving us.

We visited quite a few places during our trip, and this was one of those experiences that stayed with us long after we left. We actually found ourselves talking about it the next morning and realizing how rare it is to leave somewhere feeling genuinely happy and taken care of.

The wine was fantastic, the knowledge was impressive, and the experience was exceptional, but what we’ll remember is how we felt while we were there.

“A group of four of us enjoyed lunch there recently. The food is very good-excellent.

The fish in the fish and chips was the best my wife ever tasted, perfectly cooked and plump. The Fogo Island shrimp dish was delicious! Truffle pasta was equally tasty, and the sweet potato salad (see photo)is totally worth ordering due to the combination of complimentary and contrasting textures and flavours.

We sat inside because it was a very windy day, but the terrace looked lovely.”

“I don't know where to begin...this bakery is one out of a million! The bread, desserts and cakes are all unbelievably amazing. I have been coming here for 5 years and have had ALL my event cakes made by the fabulous Briar. Briar is such a talented cake designer/baker. She has made my bridal shower, wedding, baptism and my daughters birthday cakes for a few years now and I get nothing but the BEST compliments from family and friends! She is the nicest person along with the rest of the staff and bakers at this bakery. Please do yourself a favor and get your cakes done here!!! We absolutely LOVE briar and the rest of the team ❤❤”
