My favourite spot in Belleville to stop for lunch. Great assortment of sandwiches, quiches and soup. A little high in sodium and can be quite rich, but very delicious. Great strong coffee, friendly and patient staff.

Everything is great, but I wish it stayed open later than 5 PM — that schedule doesn’t really work for employees.

Picked this place to have lunch before we got to Ottawa. It was so tasty! Really wanted to take bread and pastries home, they even have pies! But we were travelling for a long time. Hope to stop again on way home! There were 4 of us and got a seat right by the window. They give you a number when you order at the front and bring you the food at the table you select. They even gave us an extra plate when we said we were sharing a sandwich. There is extra seating further back inside if it’s busy and clean washrooms too.

While the croissants were great, I had set my mind to have fish and chips yesterday. Fortunately it was on the menu. The pickerel was fresh and lightly battered. The pomme frites were slim and perfectly fried.

L'Auberge de France is a beautiful French Bistro right in downtown Belleville. They have French inspired lunches, dinners, and pastries. It also offers a variety of imported European gourmet culinary products and a beautifully displayed Cheese Shop.
My friend loves this spot and I can see why. The experience was really nice. Very esthetically pleasing. The outdoor eating area is lovely, albeit it just rained, so we stayed inside.
All the pastries and treats.... look so good. The cheese croissant was literally the best I ever had (get them to heat it up for you). I've heard the breakfast croissant is heavenly as well - next time!
My friend had a latte (he enjoyed his) and I wanted a Chai latte (like similar to Starbucks) but this was a Chai tea. I didn't enjoy it, but that's on me to clarify next time or order something different. My sweet friend spoke to a male staff member about my drink, as he wanted it to be perfect for me but the Chai is made different here so that's all good. I wouldn't order it again, but that's OK. I would do a London Fog next time and see how that goes.

Lattes, coffees etc. we tried are all pretty good. Nothing to complain about with the service, and there is a very nice little patio but with a bit of a wasp issue (in summer, obviously). The croissants are tasty, light, flaky and with wholesome ingredients for filling, although they occasionally run out of them.
You pay up front and get a numbered placard to take back to your seat, which I kind of like in a coffee place, it's nice to linger - or not - and then just move on as soon as the mood takes you.
Solid 4+ star establishment and probably your best option for caffeine and healthy snacks near to the heart of Belleville.

I had croissants from here for the first time and cannot stop talking about and thinking of them! Will be back to try more items on the menu, but will be looking forward to more Saturday morning croissant runs!
This morning I spent almost $50 on a variety of croissants. And hands down best croissants I have ever had!
We ate croissants with almost every meal! Aha
I can’t wait to go back to try other tasty goods from L’auberge de France!
The Best in Belleville. Hands down.
