We went to Belleville from Markham for a day trip. Found this lovely French restaurant on the front street. Ordered 2 sandwiches (smoked salmon and Montreal smoked meat)and 2 desserts. Everything tasted amazing! The environment was also lovely, feeling like back to Europe. The cashier lady was especially friendly and lovely! Will definitely go back again and again!
Lovely find for a quick coffee and patisserie. The latte was huge! Pies and quiches looked and smelled incredible. Just disappointed you couldn’t opt for a croissant or pain au chocolat or small pastry on a weekday and we were there on a Wednesday so had to opt for cakes.
Will definitely return when we’re nearby in the future.
I recently tried the frozen Chicken Fricassée and Duck Confit. My verdict is straightforward - EXCELLENT! Great flavour profile and classic french cuisine. Residents of Belleville, Trenton, Prince Edward County need to add this to their freezers for dinner parties or easy gourmet dinners. A+++
Wow! As a first-time visitor to Belville from Toronto, I was truly impressed. The atmosphere really evoked France, which I appreciated having been there. The brunch menu was fantastic, and the service was lovely and helpful. Discovering a B&B upstairs has definitely put a future overnight trip on my radar!
Nestled in a charming old French neighborhood in Belleville, Ontario, L'Auberge de France is a true culinary gem, offering authentic French cuisine, delightful sandwiches, and a fine selection of wines. The inviting ambiance is complemented by an amazing, amicable, and fast-serving staff, with Lia being a particular standout who will win you over instantly. While the Croque Monsieur is a delicious, albeit hearty, choice, their chicken and chicken parmesan sandwiches are equally satisfying and generously portioned. Don't leave without indulging in their freshly made croissants and an array of incredible in-house desserts, including the wonderfully sweet lemon tart, the unique goat cheesecake with jam, the rich triple chocolate cake, the divine Valentine heart, and the exquisite raspberry Basque. A stop at L'Auberge de France is an absolute must if you're ever in Belleville!
Excellent bakery with lots of selection! We enjoyed some sweet pastries as well as sandwiches!
Worth the hype!
Absolutely fantastic! Phenomenal food, great service and charming atmosphere! The owner, from France, is very friendly and charming too! I lived the almond croissants and pains au chocolat, as well as the lemon tart. The Basque cake was great with its homemade raspberry jam and custard. Great coffee prepared by the owner while we chatted! Exquisite Butternut soup to go. Reminded me of back home (Québec City) with its French European cachet! ♥️♥️

If you are looking for some amazing flavors all in one. Well no need to look any further. We did soup and a sandwich with a pastry. This place was like being back in Paris. Everything that we could see looked like we are going to have to come back.

Lovely! You must visit this place when you come to Belleville, Ontario. I had a croque Monsieur & a coffee. Well, I won't count calories but it is delicious. They have indoor seating and patio seating in the summer -of course. The decor, service, and the food is very tasty. I want to come back.

The lineup out the door on Saturday mornings speaks for itself. I had a croissant and a breakfast sandwich (also on a croissant). The croissants are great (though the breakfast sandwich wasn't my favourite - it was probably the sauce). A lot of great baked options here. Better get there early if you want to have a good selection. Pro tip: don't sit at the tables inside by the door at busy times (i.e. Sat morning) unless you like being constantly jostled while sitting at your table (cause the line will snake past most of those tables).
