I visited this restaurant last night with my partner. The atmosphere, the service and the food was fantastic.
Jordan was our server, he was great at greeting us and making sure we were in great hands with his service.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that want to experience somewhere different.

The lobster toll was ok. But the Sea Scallops were not cooked thoroughly. When its clear inside and spongy its NOT COOKed!! They redid them and even worst and they told me its was cooked to perfection! My butt!!!!! I am not trying to get a free meal but this is ridiculous!!!

Over the years we have visited the Boathouse on a number of occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, Fridays, during lent and because we like to eat out.
Overall every experience has been good. Its not one of our local regular spots. I would say on average we visit twice a year. It is a regular occasion restaurant, like birthdays or family celebrations.
I'm sure like a lot of restaurants that we visit mainly for fish & chips, there have been some off nights but I can't think any time where I was extremely disappointed or had a story to tell of any upsetting experience, with food or service.
Their biscuits are as good as any biscuit anywhere from any chicken or seafood chain.
For the record I do not enjoy eating outside, I don't, mainly because of bees , including but not limited to killer, bumble , honey, wasps, yellow jackets, hornets etc,. I do like their patio, and if your lucky enough to snag a table out there on Canada Day in the evening, its a fun spot to take in the fireworks , great food, great service and less bees then 87% of patios in the H&PE area.
Get the biscuits with any dish. I normally get the soup or chowder both are always strong. I also gp with the fish & chips most times amd its a nice piece of fish, normally cooked well , the fries are good but good be a bigger serving.

Great food, great service, great view! The salmon was delicious and the shrimp fettuccine had a ridiculous amount of shrimp (in the best way)!

Food sucked. The batter on the fish was gooey and the french fries were like plastic.

Door staff was incredibly rude. We came in looking for a table without a reservation and were talked to very poorly twice. They offered us an outside table but it’s raining and cold outside. We said no, and made a joke about it being too cold and try to make light of their attitude but they told us it was going to be a wait and said “you’re gonna have to wait like 30-40 mins”. This would not have been an issue for us but they were so rude. Definitely won’t be trying again.

Door staff, not very friendly. Was told it would be at least a half hour to 40 minute wait, wouldn't have been an issue, but they were very rude. They probably lost out on about $500 in profit for the evening.
First and more than likely, last time we will go. Hopefully they will speak with thier staff and teach them proper etiquette.

I never write reviews but I was so disappointed with the food at the Boathouse last night, it is a must!
The Chowder was Lukewarm and tasteless. The biscuits contained excessive salt and very, very dry.
I always made this restaurant a must stop. I hope someone pays attention to the reviews as they are not that great of late. I must add the staff was as always fantastic and hard working.

They were accommodating of a few things, but for how expensive this place is - drinks, food portions (and quality), service, and aesthetics need to be thoroughly reviewed by management. My family was eager to eat here and share how amazing they remembered this place with me, only for us all to leave fairly disappointed.
3 stars is very generous after our experience. You'd be better off at a red lobster if you're looking for quality and value.

I ordered the steak for my father, who is on bed rest.
However, I was quite upset with the serving for the price.
Birthday dinner for my daughter. Our server was incredible and an easy 10/10 with her friendliness and her efficiency. Burger would be better if it was homemade as everything else was good. Be advised of the 18% tip included fee in groups over 10, not a huge fan and always tip more than that myself but do not like the assumption to have to pay for the tip. Customers should ALWAYS have the right to tip as they feel matches the service. People will have an issue with this folks. I personally have zero concerns with our server and feel it puts the a bad tastes in some folks mouth. May wanna rethink this policy as I feel it will have a negative effect on what potentially higher tips your staff can and probably do deserve.
