Me and my mother in law were gonna come here for brunch just a few days ago but we tried sitting somewhere and they said we couldn’t as it was a “Party table” so they stuck us at a table that was very small and stuck in a small space between people all the way around us and then 2 men walked in better dressed a had lots of cash/money to offer (rich) so they were allowed to sit at the “party table” I find that very rude and I don’t think middle class people or anyone for that fact be treated this wayWe will not be coming backAnd we did walk out and cancel our order….. and honestly a ridiculous amount of money just to sit down at a table your charged …. For a table to sit down atHonestly In my estimation things have gone down hill since they moved from there originally spot before…. And the new owners….. I just can’t believe the way things have turned out

It was our first visit there. Foods great, service great, atmosphere great. The only issue was despite telling we are vegetarian they serve and feed us loaded Potato soup which had bacon. They should educate their staff on ingredients. I don’t think I appreciate that. Server did apologize and I believe her that it was genuine mistake on her part. I hope they improve and educate staff on recipe and ingredients.

I’m SO glad we decided to give it a try as it was fantastic! Very flavourful and fresh. My husband had the daily special which was a BBQ pulled-pork mac-n-cheese grilled cheese. It was ah-mazing (yes I tried it too). It came with a side salad and also an apple coleslaw. I had their Italian wedding soup and it’s by far one of the best I’ve ever tried. Every table was taken and lots of walk-in traffic too. Very clean, including the bathroom, and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely go back!

We went to The Toasted Walnut yesterday, even after seeing a bad review for them on Durham Region Food Reviews (Facebook). I’m SO glad we decided to give it a try as it was fantastic! Cute cafe! Nice, bright ambience. The woman who greeted us was really nice. When we got there, the two large party tables (both with four seats) were full and we weren’t really given a wait time. The food on the counters looked delicious but we didn’t purchase anything. Hope to try it another time!
They are so fresh and flaky that they beat any coffee chain offering. They offer a variety of scones and sweets that makes it hard not to walk out with everything. Make sure to stop in and treat yourself while supporting this local shop.

Nice, tidy cafe with clean washrooms.The quiche was nice and included a fresh scone.Street parking was available but a public lot is located across the street. They offer lots of seating but during winter, the tables near the door can be breezy.

I want to give the team at The Toasted Walnut a huge shout out!!! ?✨? Yesterday I ordered a large assortment of their yummy scones & savory danishes for early this morning and they did not disappoint. They had it all packed and ready to go and they even helped me take it to my car. Needless to say, these goodies were a hit at work and those danishes were first to disappear. If you ever need to order goodies for the office or a party, be sure to contact them!Thank you so much! I hope you have a happy Holiday Season!!
