We've been here twice now and the food has always impressed. The steak tartar is the best I've had out here, the venison done perfectly seared and tender. The cocktails and cocktails are lovely. And the service is friendly, helpful and accommodating. My only note is that the coffee could be better. Maybe try a local roaster or bean. Best food we had in our four week journey through Ontario. After a lot of places that over promised and under delivered, this place was quite a lucky surprise for us. Didn’t expect this kind of food in a sleepy small town (on a Sunday at least).
The Yardbird is hands down my favourite spot to dine out in Bowmanville. The atmosphere is vibey, cozy, and welcoming — the kind of place you just want to hang out in.
