The best parathas ever

Alima has been the best roti in Brampton for as long as I can remember.
Skins are light and tasty. The dalpouri is my favorite.
We usually buy the skins and make our own curry.
But very good overall.
The doubles are extremely good.
This visit we bought 2 chicken roti and 2 doubles.
Very filling meal.

Have been a customer for over 20 years. This past weekend, we needed a lot of roti for a special prayers. They were great, cut up the roti for us, and it was all fresh and packaged well. Will always recommend Alimas. 😃

The best paratha one can find. Although it is a Jamaican delicacy but very close to "raway maida ka paratha" from the Malbari menu. The Malbaris correct their name as "Mala Bahari" but only a handful of people know that. Sheermal, and Besan ka paratha are not replicated by anyone else. Taaftan is Mughal, I guess. Anyway, this joint offers many other items that are typically Jamaican authenticity and we have not developed a taste for those. Feel free to try whatever you like I can only vouch for the Paratha. Bon appetit.

I drove about an hour to pick up some food specifically the Roti as its very fresh and tasty however the cashier was very unwelcoming and a little rude. I may not be a regular customer who knows exactly what they want but better customer service would have warrented a 5 star review. Due to the attitude of the lady that was serving me I probably would not be back to aupport the business but great food I have to say.

Honestly, we have supported this business for over a decade. They have always made great roti, however I just cannot continue to support the eye gouging with how they are pricing. I would expect a greedy corporation to continue to raise prices and make things unaffordable, but when you are small walk-in restaurant, with no seating, just a counter to pick up food, you would think they would try to maintain reasonable pricing. I ordered a dozen roti shells and it came to $56 dollars. I mean, that’s not even within the realm of reasonable for a product made with flour and water. I just found a place nearby that is selling a dozen roti shells for $35. Huge different in price. Unfortunately we won’t be returning or recommending Alima’s anymore.

came in today oct 30 at 3 pm and got 2 doubles extra hot and a tamarind chutney. i asked for extra hot because even when i usually order hot there’s no pepper. once again, there was not even medium pepper in the doubles. it was extremely mild. not to mention that parts of the bara were hard, so they were leftover and not fresh.

this used to be my go to place for doubles, they were always amazing but the quality and consistency has gone down tremendously with the people who work in the back. doubles used to have a thick bara and the chickpeas used to not be sweet (i didn’t even need to add the tamarind because it was sweet)but savoury and flavourful. all of it has changed. really really disappointed.

i understand that it’s not going to be perfect every time, but for it to taste this way every time i’ve gone in the last 6 months means it’s more than just a one or two off situation.

the lady who took my order however was extremely friendly. doubles should be fresh and pepper should be put accordingly when asked politely.

I usually buy plain whole wheat roti. Not many places have whole wheat. Very good service

It's a takeout spot - probably my favourite Caribbean in the city.
Doubles can be hit or miss, but I still finish every bit of them when they are miss. Hopefully that speaks for itself. The paratha is fantastic.

Located around an industrial area and unit. Came at Lunchtime. Ordered one pack of Polouri, 1 shrimp Dahl Roti, and 1 coconut water. Oder came to $19.75 which is expensive for the lunch meal. Paid and got my items. Forgotten was the coconut water at the counter( had to ask for it again). Checked the bag, and only Roti....asked for Polouri, and Forgotten it- but was advised it wasn't charged. So for $19.75, it wasn't included. Rather expensive. Better be worth it- right?

Not exactly, save your money, it's overpriced. Roti skin is very thin, it's wrapped like eating a burrito because the Roti skin is razor thin....
Used a fork instead.

Curry was off, shrimp wasn't fresh, because it was a bit tough.

Will not be a return but an expensive experience.

4 stars for atmosphere, clean shop
2 stars for service, server forgot my drink and polouri order
3 stars for food.
