0/5 stars. Visited here many times with my family. I took my girlfriend out for a date night and there was broken glass in my drink. I spit it out thinking something was wrong with the ice and it was actually glass. While I went to the washroom to check for cuts in my mouth. The manager told my girlfriend we had to pay. After I came back and explained. I left without paying. If I would have swollwed the broken glass, this would not be a review, it would be a lawsuit. I strongly recommend not visiting this location.

Went here last night for the first time in a while and it was disappointing. Service was slow, found a dead fly in my food and when mentioned, the manager didn’t seem to care not to mention half of what we ordered never made it to our table. It’s a shame because the food in general is actually good but will not be returning to this location.

If you're looking for a sushi place that balances quality, service, and atmosphere, this upscale spot is a strong contender. We visited twice—once on a weekday and again on the weekend—and both times, the staff were consistently warm and attentive. It’s clear they take pride in providing a good dining experience.

The menu offers a solid variety, with highlights like the aburi sushi and torched rolls—absolutely delicious and now my personal favourites. Sashimi lovers will appreciate the generous portions and fresh quality. Their gourmet cake dessert was also a standout and a nice way to end the meal.

As for the hot items, the tempura shrimp could use some improvement—it tasted a bit greasy, like the oil needed changing. But the calamari was well done, and the pork momos, pork shumai, and shrimp dumplings were all satisfying. While the dim sum selection isn’t extensive, what they offer is well-prepared.

If you’re going for the all-you-can-eat dinner, it’s worth the price. The dinner menu has more variety and better options than lunch, so come hungry and pace yourself. I’d suggest starting with the sashimi and torched rolls before diving into heavier fried items that’ll fill you up fast.

Clean space, great food, and better service than most sushi places in the area. Definitely worth a visit.

First time trying August 8. Ambiance is perfect, moody and cozy. Place was clean, dimly lit, does not even feel like you are attached to a mall. Service was great, quick and efficient. Sometimes it feels too efficient when people had to reach out for things towards the middle of the table. We try to keep up. Food is great! Didn't get something that we did not enjoy. Will definitely come back with friends and family! Also really nice that you can walk around for some shopping afterwards.

Our server was Jason Adora. He was friendly, approachable and able to answer our questions. He refilled our water without being asked and continued to check on us from the moment we got there. In this day and age of costly meals, it’s nice to have this type of service. Food was very good. I’m glad they offer lunch specials as sometimes we don’t want AYCE.

The food is excellent. The atmosphere is poor loud computerized music. They bring your order all at once. That annoyed me. The staff tried really hard to please but in my opinion failed miserably. Very difficult to have a conversation because of the loud music. My wife and I will probably not return.

This restaurant is amazing for presentation, service, and the food looks and tastes great - but they've changed it and now many items are cooked in butter or cheese. I didn't know until after we left and I felt quite sick. I can no longer tolerate dairy unfortunately, and dairy is in nearly everything. Another restaurant goes out of circulation for us.

Although the service was great, the food was disappointing. Out of the 15 or so dishes we tried there are only 2 that I can remember being good. The rest, especially the dim sum items were just awful. They were as if they were yesterday's leftovers and heated up in a microwave. The best way I can describe them was that they were rubbery. The 2 good dishes were the steak and the green tea ice cream. It's sad because I heard that August 8 has been improving over the years. I can confirm these rumours are false.

Well this place went to crap. They used to have a really good sashimi, sushi, roll party plater, until they changed their menu. Now the only option they offer is garbage. No variety compared to what it used to be. Fewer pieces. And almost all salmon. News flash. Sushi is more than just salmon. They don't even have a spicey tuna hand roll anymore. What kind of sushi place is that?
For those who have a salmon intolerance, don't get takeout from here. You'll have nothing to eat.
August 8 used to be decent. But after the menu change, and it is only the Brampton location that has changed their menu, it is not worth the money. We won't be ordering from here any more. That's for sure.

If there is 0 star I would give them 0 or even minus. It is terrible experience. I love August 8 and go to Oakville location all the time but Brampton location is terrible. Avoid this location.
