I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I put my name on the waiting list and patiently waited for over an hour, trusting that I would be seated in the order I arrived. To my surprise, the staff completely ignored my turn and started seating walk-in guests who came much later than me. It was extremely frustrating and felt very unfair, as I wasted so much time waiting with no respect given to the order of the list. This kind of treatment shows a serious lack of organization and customer care. If a restaurant asks customers to wait, the least they can do is honor the list properly and treat everyone equally. Unfortunately, this experience left me upset and I wouldn’t recommend this place based on how poorly they manage their guests.

The preparation time was more than 50 mins. And no apology of any kids, just saying that it takes time.

Pathetic catering experience for my birthday party!
They served Gobi 65 without the gobi – just the fried coating with zero content inside. Who does that? Absolute scam! And their so-called Chilli Paneer should be renamed Chilli Rubber — hard, chewy, and impossible to eat. Imagine spending money to serve this garbage to your guests. Never again. Avoid at all costs if you don’t want to be embarrassed in front of your family and friends.

Totally not worth the price, gobi 65 was the worst and never gonna go there again
Food doesn’t taste good at all. Not recommended!
I ordered tandoori momos, gobi 65, and chicken biryani. Momos and gobi were full of oil and felt like it was sitting there for days. I didn’t like the food at all. Not recommended

Very disappointed with my recent visit.
I went for dine-in today and had to wait around 45 minutes for the food, which was already frustrating. But what made it worse was that the noodles were served cold and, to my shock, had a black hair in them. This is completely unacceptable from any restaurant, let alone one with such a strong reputation.
The staff did apologize and replaced the dish, but honestly, the experience was already ruined. I expected much higher standards of hygiene, food quality, and service.
I hope the management takes this seriously and improves their kitchen hygiene and overall quality control to prevent this from happening to other customers.

I have been a loyal customer at Chawlas for years, coming here almost every other weekend mainly for the momos. Sadly, tonight was my final visit.
Despite calling ahead and being placed on the waitlist, I ended up waiting 1.5 hours because another group was given priority over my table. When I was finally seated, I ordered chili chicken momos and was told they would take 25 minutes. They actually arrived after 45 minutes.
I understand restaurants get busy on a long weekend Saturday night, but if you are operating such a large and well-known establishment, you need to plan accordingly hire more staff, manage seating properly, and handle the kitchen efficiently. Instead, the service was disorganized and careless. When I asked to speak with a manager, a server showed up claiming to be one, which was unprofessional and disappointing.
I also noticed several other tables facing issues, such as meals being served incomplete (noodles arriving without the gravy, for example). This shows the problem isn’t isolated.
After years of coming here, this experience has completely changed my opinion. The lack of respect for customers’ time and the poor management make it impossible for me to recommend Chawlas anymore. I will not be returning, and I suggest others think twice before choosing this place.
