We had our two kids with us so we were four and then a family of 4 we knew joined us from the other table. As they just got there And we were surprised to see A group gratuity I didn't do the math but it looked like a five percentage Like maybe 20 percent on the subtotal. bit surprised. Our team went to Jack Asters in Brampton the next night and everything was perfect and they didn't do any group gratuity

I had high hopes for Chuks Bar, but the experience was a major letdown. I walked in, sat down, and waited… and waited. Despite the place not being too busy, I was completely ignored. No greeting, no menu, no service — just staff walking past like I wasn’t even there. After 20 minutes of being treated like I was invisible, I walked out. A bar is supposed to be welcoming, not make you feel like an inconvenience. Won’t be coming back.

This restaurant is nestled at the intersection of Brampton's bustling arteries, where the symphony of traffic competes with the sizzle of grills. This, my friends, is where the masses come to gorge themselves on what passes for a carnivorous experience in suburban Canada.

As I approach, I'm greeted by a façade that screams "chain restaurant" louder than a line cook's obscenities during a dinner rush. The promise of outdoor seating catches my eye, but let's be real – who wants to savor their meal while inhaling exhaust fumes and watching the endless parade of city trucks and SUVs? It's about as appealing as a vegan potluck at a slaughterhouse.

Inside, the atmosphere is a carefully crafted illusion of new rustic charm, as authentic as a politician's smile. The menu, a laminated testament to focus-grouped mediocrity, offers the usual suspects. But let's cut through the bs and get to the meat of the matter.

I order the steak, medium-rare, because if you're going to do something, do it right or don't bother. To my surprise, it arrives exactly as requested – a small victory in the world of mass-produced cuisine. The beef, while not going to win any awards, is decent.

The onion rings, however, are a different story. Crispy, golden halos of deep-fried glory, they're the kind of guilty pleasure that makes you forget about your arteries for a moment.

But let's not kid ourselves. This place is to fine dining what I am to sobriety – a distant, occasionally nodding acquaintance. It's a cog in the great machine of franchise dining, churning out acceptable fare for the masses who simply don't care.

As I pay my bill and step back into the Brampton night, I'm left with a feeling of ambivalence and the smell of the nearby shawarma restuarants. Was it terrible? No. Was it transcendent? Again no. But in a world where genuine experiences are increasingly rare, sometimes you take what you can get – even if it comes with a side of corporate uniformity and the roar of traffic.

Vegetarian options: Yes but I do not recommend

Parking: Free parking in the back and absolutely no street parking

Wheelchair accessibility: Very new building so this place is setup to code.

The server didn’t confirm the order, resulting in an extra plate of food being brought out.

My money went toward paying for that extra dish instead of the tip.

All the chucks I’ve been to get packed after 9pm. This one was half empty. I’m not surprised

UPDATE: after deciding to give this location a second chance, i am disappointed to report i had a long piece of hair cooked into my quesadilla. Now although they mad me a new one to take home. I was disappointed to know i was not offered compensation. Just comparing to my own experience in the restaurant business, when something like that happens, usually you comp the meal or offer a gift card or free dessert.
Instead i was met with confusion and what seemed to be denial of the hair which makes no sense.
The server was nice but that didn’t make up for the situation.

servers were nice but slow.
Food was good but i’ve had better at other locations.

Went in to eat and watch a ticats game my wife ordered water and lemon I ordered beer. After a while we got water only because she said she had to cut the lemons and she forgot. Big job I guess . Then we ordered and waited and waited . We saw people who came in after us get served first . Waitress said she lost the order and we have to reorder and wait again. Still no lemon . We got the hell out and had a nice time at Boston pizza down the street.
