I want to give an honest snapshot of my experiences at this diner. Itâs close to home, the prices are great (especially for kids), and the food is exactly what it looks like: simple breakfast at a fair price. If youâre expecting gourmet or influencer-level food, this is not the place.
My issue is not the food. Itâs the service, specifically one waitress, Debbie. I come here with my kids (both under 8). I donât usually eat breakfast myself for personal reasons, but I still order meals for my kids and whoever Iâm with.
Incident 1 I came with my mom and my two kids. I ordered two kidsâ meals for the kids, my mom ordered a regular meal, and I ordered a coffee. While taking the order, Debbie said loudly and in a condescending tone, âKids meals are for kids.â There were literally two kids sitting right there. Her comment was unnecessary and disrespectful. A waitress talking to a paying customer like that, especially in front of my kids and a full restaurant, is unacceptable. She has no idea about anyoneâs situation, and itâs disgusting that someone in a service role would speak that way.
Ongoing Behaviour This wasnât a one-off. On other visits she asks, with attitude, âAre you eating today?â How about waiting until I order before making assumptions.
Most Recent Visit I came in with my toddler. I ordered his meal and a milk. The meal came. The milk never did. After waiting around 20 minutes, I called Debbie over and calmly explained that he was thirsty and still waiting. She said she would get it. Instead, she walked away, started cleaning tables, prepping for a group that wasnât even in the restaurant yet, and then stood chatting with coworkers. I had to get up, walk over, and tell her again to bring the drink. My son shouldnât have to wait until she feels like doing her job.
This behaviour is unacceptable. She is noticeably nicer to other customers, which makes it even more obvious that the issue isnât âbeing busyâ - itâs her attitude.
I donât care what she thinks of me personally. Sheâs being paid to serve customers. Leave the attitude at home and do the job. Be a decent human being.
Despite all this, I still bring my kids because I wonât let one low-effort employee decide where we eat. But management needs to address this. A business can have good prices and decent food, but if the service is disrespectful, it ruins the experience.

Worst they could treat delivery partners. Very Rude and Arrogant staff, especially a lady in the morning who doesnât have respect to talk. Worst staff ever seen in a Eggsmart location. Been to a lot of Eggsmart but due to this one lady it feels like never to visit this chain ever again. Very Rude, Arrogant and Disrespectful employee.

My wife and I had a terrific breakfast this morning at Eggsmart at Queen and McLaughlin. Be cautious if you read/believe the delivery reviews here. One driver gave a one-star review about his own dirty delivery bag. We were seated near the delivery table, and while we dined, 9 bagged orders were filled. We felt sorry for the staff, because they had to explain to each of the drivers that a warming bag was required (it was snowing outside) so that their customers would get warm food at their homes. The drivers had every excuse why they didn't have a bag, and only one driver came in with a thermal-type bag, but with no lid! Our food was delicious, and the staff were friendly, even though we arrived at their busiest time. Tasty and hot food and beverages. Prices right on par with every other breakfast/brunch location.

Service was FAB! Really friendly and welcoming, attentive and super nice. I would recommend adding some flavour to the Mediterranean skillet, the capers are a fun add. My only complaint is the doors to the washrooms and the washroom doors are absolutely filthy and better care by the cleaners should be taken. Would re-visit and recommend.
