The best comfort food you can find. I had forgotten how much I loved the haddock and poutine. Best have it fresh at the restaurant.

It’s so important to have fresh ingredients and give your clients good quality food especially when it comes to fish. Fish is something you don’t mess with. Unfortunately, the meal I received was extremely disappointing. Some pieces were chewy, others tasted overly fishy, and everything was far too oily.

I ended up sick all night, throwing up, stomach pain, and today I have to miss work because of it. I spent $50 on what was supposed to be a treat that turned into a horrible experience.

Today we came to have our late lunch as we dovregularly for 25plus years. However today surprising the food quantity is less . The chips by number it was 14 individual chips n paid additional 1 dollar for salad ..however the answer was its half. Paid full amount for entre.

My wife had thin pieces of haddock n upon eating found it was fried batter rather than fish.

Anyways . Expectations are going down from all sides. Wow. Dissapointing

They have much more than fish and chips. Check out the awesome desserts. They are so reasonably priced.

Beltin’ Little Chippy, This!

Nipped in t’other night for me tea and honest to God, it were absolutely spot on. Fish came out lookin’ a right treat — batter dead crispy, none o’ that claggy muck you get at some places. Chips were proper chunky ’uns, fresh out the fryer, steamin’ like they’d just come off the cobbles.

Portions were that big I thought I’d need a lie-down in the ginnel afterwards. Staff were lovely an’ all — chatty, warm, proper Corrie-style “you alright, love?” energy. Felt like I’d popped into Rita’s for a brew.

All told, it’s a cracking chippy. If you’re after summat tasty, filling, and proper Northern, get yourself down there — you won’t be gutted.

The only reason I gave a 4 on food is because they changed the cod. Blue cod is light tasting so you taste the batter and oil more. Big pieces of fish received cooked perfectly, as always.

My brother took me to the restaurant. I like fish. Absolutely amazing fries, the Halibut was very good. One thing I was impressed with, was they way they accommodated the client. We were four at the table. Side dishes were halved at the clients request they accommodated half salad half fries. Interms of quantity you will not go hungry very large portions. At my next visit I might ask to split it half half, one half eat in the restaurant the second half I take home.

The food is exceeded. The quality and quantity have been maintained for the over 20 years I’ve been visiting.
Service is prompt and courteous.
Atmosphere is fine, typical of a busy and popular restaurant.
