i absolutely love this place! carlos, the owner, is so friendly, funny, and welcoming—he truly makes you feel like the restaurant opened just for you.
their half chicken with potatoes and rice is my absolute favourite. i used to drive 35 minutes just to get good portuguese chicken, and i had no idea there was such an amazing spot right here in my own neighbourhood.
i also love that their food is naturally gluten‑free, dairy‑free, and soy‑free, which makes it safe for me to enjoy without worry. i usually bring the chicken home and eat it with my own hot sauce brand, and the flavours are out of this world. their juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken with crispy potatoes paired with my hot sauce is just next‑level—it’s the perfect bite every time.

My cousin and I walked in last minute for a lunch take out order for our Aunts. Carlos, the owner was amazing! He made fresh Bacalhau ā Brás and a chicken family order quickly and it tasted amazing! Thank you for lunch, the Maria's were happy ladies. 😊

I have ordered from Portas do mar several times now. Everyone is very pleased with the food! Very fresh, delicious chicken, potatoes and rice with reasonable prices. I am also pleased they are open on Boxing Day. I have a dependable place to order from!

The food was mid, although i am not giving these stars because of the food but for the poor customer service and experience dining here.
The salted cod wasn’t soaked long enough so it is saltier than expected. Yes i have had proper Portuguese many times before. The beef was alright though.
Their regulars would have marital fights over at the bar. Very ratchet and ghetto to see. Alcoholic regulars same like the alcoholic male and female owners.
Sometimes their card machine wont work so they ask you to withdraw some cash from outside to pay. Yes they have an ATM inside but it also doesn’t work LOL.
