The staff was welcoming, I ordered rice and peas with jerk chicken. The chicken tasted very old. It smelt terrible. I do not know why they would sell chicken like that. I bought two meals therefore I waisted $30. I love to support our Caribbean culture but this is the exact reason I’d go out the box.

The Lady was very rude, she skipped us to serve two new customers behind us without even saying anything as if ignoring us and we had been waiting for half an hour already. It’s not nice,, I don’t want to wished bad luck for their business but I hope she will changed her attitude.

So damn good that the craving for their jerk pork came back 5 years later when I started working in the area again and I'm so glad it did. Go at lunch time during the week and you'll see people from every background, wearing everything from high-vis gear to suit jackets. That's how you know it's one of the best.

I have been a supporter of Portland Jerk and Gary for over 10 years. But the newer employee with the dreads is a terrible server. She picks through and finds all the bones whenever I get oxtail.. all the other staff is good and is overall generous with portions. I will always avoid her from now on.
