We came across this restaurant on our last evening in Amsterdam. It’s located close to Olympic Stadium - very convenient to our hotel. We sat on the nice little outdoor patio. We had the butter chicken for a mild dish and a spicier prawn curry. Both were excellent. They are served with rice or naan. The pakora starter was also very good. Our server was attentive and friendly. Overall a great experience.

Team meal was delicious. Mixed starters of veg pakora , lamb / chicken kebab fantastic. Naans fresh and hot and tasty curries. Helpful kitchen adding heat when asked. Will come again.

An Indian restaurant near the old Olympic stadium. It's nicely decorated and well layout. Service provided by the staff was friendly and attentive. Food was tasty and portions were big enough. Not top-notch yet certainly very good. Recommended.

We order directly from their site thinking it was better from them, After one hour we called and after some time we got the answer that they were busy and we should come and pick up the food. We said we did not want to you and wanted our money back. They hanged up on us. Trying to call them bak they were either hanging up either directing us to the voice mail... Then we used another phone and we could get through (coincidence :-)) and we were told they would reimburse now. After several hours still waiting for it...

Such a nice atmosphere at this wonderful Indian restaurant! My Norwegian family and my Dutch boyfriend truly enjoyed our meal at Swagat? I would love to go there again, best chicken korma I’ve ever had! Anbefales på det sterkeste!!

Authentic north Indian food. Great service. You can ask for the level of spiciness you want. A good indian restaurant amongst many in Amsterdam.

I have finally find a good Indian restaurant in the neighbourhood. I have ordered chicken madras as a main course, which was perfectly spicy as it should be (for me, spicy but not too much). Also, garlic-cheese naan was delicious (without any oil on the bottom and with real normal garlic pieces instead of “melted garlic spice”. I really enjoyed the meal and friendly atmosphere. Definitely will go here again!

I went to eat here with my boyfriend. We took lamb tikka massala and prawn with naan bread. The lamb meat was really soft and the naan was thin, so you could really taste the cheese inside. Service was excellent; very friendly people and they check up on you. I ate a lot of Indian places but this one is indeed a five star.
We have gone to Swagat a few times for dine-in and many times for takeout during lockdown. They are always very friendly and the portions are spot on. They have very nice choices for vegetarians as well as good beer and wine selections. The flavors of the dishes are really well done and besides the extensive selection of chicken, lamb and fish dishes, they also offer balti and tandoori dishes on the menu. Lots of choices! We really love spicy food and Swagat is not afraid to kick up the eat level if you so desire. The well flavored basmati rice and the naan bread (they offer a garlic and cheese version!) can be helpful soaking up all that delicious sauce. Yum! Service is pleasant and the inside is very nice without feeling stuffy. They also offer outside seating during nicer weather. Our favorite Indian restaurant in Amsterdam!

First class experience. Fantastic service and superb food. The chicken wing stater was sublime. The Jalfreezi with tadka dhall was simply Devine. And finally the naan bread was the best I’ve tasted in a very long time. I’ve tried a few in Amsterdam but this tops the lot by quite a way. Definitely will return.
