We celebrated Janmashtami for the first time and wanted to do something different and thought live dosa would be interesting. But we were also in a dilemma that the guests were spread across different times throughout the day. Not only did Vinayagar Vilas help cover all the basis with awesome food, but the live dosa was a smash hit! Tired of the same old naan, paneer menu, people genuinely enjoyed the live dosas. A friend recently picked up idlis and vadas from here for a potluck, and everyone really enjoyed them! The idlis were soft and fluffy, while the vadas had that perfect crispy bite with lots of flavor. The sambhar was tasty and well-balanced, with just the right amount of chilli — unlike some places that make it overwhelmingly hot. This hit the spot without being too spicy, which made it enjoyable for everyone at the table. Giving it 4 stars for now since I’ve only tried it once — will happily revise the rating based on the next experience. 🌶️🍛

Ordered 15-20 cups of tea and coffee for pickup via uber eats. None of the cups had any lamination - completely unsealed. Nothing to retain the heat or ensure safe transport.

Even though it was a pickup order, it should be common sense that the beverages need to be securely covered.

If you’re offering beverages for takeaway or pickup, basic things like lid cover and heat retention shouldn’t be overlooked- especially when the order clearly says 20 cups.

And when i asked the staff - they simply said “because it’s a pickup order” seriously? Even for pickup basic packaging is expected. By the time we got to the office (just 7-8 minutes drive) everything was cold.

I recently visited Vinayagar Vilas in Brampton and was very happy with the experience. They serve authentic South Indian food at very reasonable prices—you can eat a lot for a very affordable amount, especially compared to other places in the area. The taste and quality of the food were excellent, and the staff was friendly and polite.
They currently only offer takeout, but that wasn’t a big issue for me. However, I do have one suggestion: they could improve the quality of their packaging. The plastic containers they use don’t seem to be the best for health, especially for hot food. I believe many customers, including myself, wouldn’t mind paying a little extra if they switched to better-quality, food-safe packaging.
Other than that, everything was amazing—from the food to the service. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending this place to others who enjoy genuine South Indian cuisine.

I’m a Gujarati who absolutely loves South Indian food, and I stumbled upon this gem about two years ago. Since then, I’ve been ordering their curries, dosa, and other dishes almost every week. The place is small but always buzzing with people — sometimes the queues get long, but honestly, I don’t mind the wait because the food quality is just that good. What impresses me the most is how they’ve consistently maintained their authentic taste and quality while keeping prices reasonable, even during inflation. These folks truly deserve appreciation for their dedication to great food and value. Highly recommend!

Sometimes they put too much salt in chutney sometimes too much salt in sambhar. Happened with me 3-4 times . Please be consistent with your recipe

Very fast and friendly customer service you can get all the vegetarian food there

Made the mistake of getting food for my party from here. Got 2 trays of noodles and some snacks. No one at the party liked the food. Bland, lacked any kind of flavor, the vegetables were overcooked. And most of all, overpriced! Paid $90 for a lot of nothing. The worst part is the charged me for plates and cutlery 😒 Was not good, would not recommend.
