Vishnu's Doubles & Roti Shop

As a Trinidadian growing up eating this food, I have to say this place needs some significant improvements. The doubles were tasteless and bara was very chewing. I don't know what they think medium pepper is but what we got was mild enough to feed our toddler. They messed up my order - I asked for a boneless GOAT roti and got chicken and they never bothered to double-check the order. The staff moves very slowly (and that's coming from someone who is from the islands where everyone moves slowly). The roti was too thick to be considered paratha (it was closer to the texture of sada roti). There were also burnt bits in their roti that left a very bitter taste in my mouth. The food costed too much for the quality we were given. The tri-city area has a lot of Jamaican restaurants but nothing to represent Trinidad or Guyana and this is why people make the trip to the GTA. Vishnu's, unfortunately, does not rectify this. Maybe it's because they're new, but they are not yet up to par.

Wow the flavour of the goat and roti was off the charts. The owner recommended some things to me and all of them were SO good. I will definitely be coming back and telling my friends.

I went to the trinbago festival at nathan phillip sq and this place did a catering event. I had ordered the pholourie with tamarine sauce and it was just fried dough(raw dough still in the middle) with no split peas and the sauce was just not it. 2/10 just for effort and the drink

Had a chicken roti and an order of Pholourie for dinner tonight from the new Cambridge location. Top Notch delicious!! Will be a frequent weekly meal I’m sure!! Highly recommend!

I should have known when the place looked empty the food wouldnt taste nice'threw it away no potatoes in my roti just chicken. Taste old sour I asked the lady if they microwave the food because I heard a microwave sound going off, when she was preparing my order, not fresh at all taste water down curry. They need a real trini in that kitchen.waste of money.

Finally a nice trini spot!!! And to top it off tasty doubles and aloo pie!!! Very friendly staff , extremely clean atmosphere. Definitely will be my new spot.

I've been getting doubles here monthly since my friend discovered it back in 2019. Definitely one of the best and most consistent doubles places I've visited since moving across here. Sad to hear they'll be closing up shop in Bramps and moving to Cambridge, but I'll be enjoying your doubles till then!

Nice storefront, and menu display lots of chairs and tables to sit and eat. Washroom was exceptionally clean. We ordered pholowrie, doubles, and curry roti. Everything was made so fresh right down to the chutney. All the spices and flavours were there. We enjoyed every bite of our food, very well done
