Kurgeena is absolutely incredible! She consistently delivers exceptional service, always paired with the warmest, most genuine smile. On my last visit, she went above and beyond to help me, and when I returned today, she greeted me with that same friendly welcome that instantly makes you feel appreciated.

The food is always fantastic, but it’s the thoughtful, attentive service from people like Kurgeena that keeps me coming back. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience every time. I’ll definitely be returning!

I went to Xaymaca because I saw it on TikTok. Once we arrived I knew the experience would not be great. I reserved for 2. When we arrived they didn't even ask if we were walk-ins or reservation. Error 1. We sat at a table just for 2 it was rocking horribly. So we changed seats. Took awhile to get menus to get water. Anyhow we had the appetizer choose 4 for $26 that was good. The chicken soup was good. The food was not salty. We had the curry goat entree and the shrimp & coconut pasta (trust me 2 can share it) It was good and if you like spinach it's good. Ask for a spoon to eat the pasta with your fork. The sorrel was ok i tasted more ginger.

First time earlier this month, going back this evening to celebrate my son’s birthday. Had a fantastic time. Great food, worth the wait to get the meal.😁

I was a regular customer here but at this point I’m not going back it’s currently 10:51 pm I place my order for 8:50 my mom picked it up for me i ordered the jerk shrimp pasta and the coconut shrimp I got home and seen three gave them a call they gave me options I said I wanted them to make more I was given one more shrimp and festival instead of them remaking the order I am 9
Months pregnant and had to drive back because they messed up my order and they couldn’t even have the decency to remake the entire order I waited 15 mins for One shrimp and festival. I been coming here for years my family comes and tips good they know me I feel highly
Disrespected and the customer service isn’t always up to par I’m literally fuming . I spent almost 50 dollars for me to eat my food cold and then to come back to this is ridiculous

Disappointing Experience at Xaymaican Restaurant

I had a very disappointing experience at Xaymaican. From the moment we walked in, there was no greeting or sense of customer service — it was just straight to ordering with no welcome or acknowledgment. After placing our order, there was no “thank you” or any kind of interaction that showed appreciation for the business.

The food was expensive, with prices starting at $20 and up, which might be understandable if the quality matched — but unfortunately, it did not. We waited over an hour for our food: fried chicken with rice and peas, along with macaroni salad. When we finally received it, the chicken was dry and cold, tasting like it had been refried multiple times. The mac salad tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for days and the rice and pea was cold? Like what was taking so long cause clearly it wasnt the food.

There was no apology or explanation for the delay or poor quality, and we ended up throwing the food away right outside the restaurant after trying it.

Take in the bbq fry chicken 🤮

Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

Let me start off with the positive.

I’ve been going to this place for many years and I have recommended this place to PLENTY. Although I will say that the customer service can be improved, I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed the meals that have been served here.

Nonetheless…fast forward to today, I ordered a jerk chicken Alfredo- a meal I order and enjoy every Sunday. However, today for whatever reason, it was incredibly salty. Therefore, I had requested to my server to have it re-made, as I just couldn’t eat it. Simple request.

One of the cooks came out. In a very passive aggressive approach, he details that they all tasted the pasta in the back and that it was not salty. I proceeded to tell him that I’ve ordered the same meal year after year with zero complaints. However, it just so happened to be extra salty today and that I would like a new patch. Despite this, he kept on going back and forth with me and proceeded to ask if I had a salt problem (perhaps suggesting a potential medical issue). I found this to be an incredibly inappropriate inquiry for a “cook”, to ask a paying customer. He had zero business asking me such a question. He then proceeded to say he will make the next batch with “no salt”.

It was at this moment that my spirit started to feel very uneasy with him. Like who cooks with no salt? I simply asked for LESS salt. I never requested a “no- salt” meal.

The level of defensiveness and pride in his approach made me feel incredibly uncomfortable (though I can tell he was trying to keep his composure with a fake smile on his face). At that point, I told him “don’t worry about it. I don’t want the pasta anymore”.

Nonetheless, he insisted that he would remake it. To which he did. At that point I was completely turned off but I was incredibly hungry so ate it anyway.

The second time around, he stayed and asked if the pasta was fine. To which I replied, “yes”. Prior to leaving he said next time you come, tell the waiter it’s “the girl who doesn’t like salt”.

This is the first time I have not tipped in YEARS. Although I wanted to tip my waiter- as she was kind and accommodating… am not familiar w/ how they share their tips with the cooks and didn’t want another cent of my hard earned money going towards him.

It’s unfortunate that a restaurant cannot take constructive feedback without having a spirit of ego, defensiveness and pride.

A simple, “I will make it with less salt this time….apologies for the inconvenience”…would have solved everything.

I am not saying not to go to this place. However, I am saying no human is perfect. You will not get it right all the time. Approach mishaps with humbleness. Accommodate a request and move on.

I had fried red snapper, rice and peas and plantain and it was really good. Drinks were also decent. Service was a little slow, our server didn't really check on us and it took 20 minutes just to pay the bill.

First time there and I was not disappointed. Our waitress was kind and was patient with our big group. Atmosphere was chill and relaxing. Enjoyed the music that was playing. Though the food took some time it was soooo worth the wait! So delicious and the festivals were so fresh! I can't wait to go back!👌🏼🙌😋
