I wish I could give them 5 stars. It is a really good pizza. The dough is good, the ingredient quality is good, and the topping amount is generous. Also, the price is competitive and their customer service is good. The only reason is not a 5 stars pizza for me is the sauce. And don't get me wrong, it is good quality, and some people say it's their favorite thing about the pizza place, but it is not of my taste. It has a distinct flavor that feels alien and kicks my taste buds in a way that screams 'this ingredient should not be here'. It is the fennel/light anis flavor that gives a licorice aftertaste. I understand in some places like Naples, sometimes it is used, but I can't stand it. And is not the flavor per se. I am used to the flavor in other dishes and even beverages. It is just not for pizza. Most Italian pizzaiolos would say the secret to a good pizza sauce is to use good sauce tomatoes and to keep it simple. Full disclosure, I've been to Italy and tried their different pizzas. Also tried pizzas in different countries and it is understandable that as in almost every dish, there are local variations to adapt to the local preferences. I guess it is a personal preference. I wish I could just take the flavor out or just have the option of a traditional tomato sauce with no other ingredients. I recommend the place and I will come back almost every time because it is the go to option in my household.

This pizza is a must try for anyone who loves pie. Quality, fresh ingredients are at the top of the list here. But... besides the pie, there are these absolutely phenomenal desserts. The plaques on the wall tell the story of award winning pastries and chocolate delights. Lovely place and people.

I stopped here today to grab an order for the first time. While I was in the store there was a gentleman that could be seen in the parking lot who was very much down on his luck. The lady who was behind the counter went into the kitchen to see if there were extra pizza slices that she could give him.
The pizza I received was excellent, but even if it wasn’t, I’d be returning here. Kudos to this staff member for her compassion and heart. I hope she sees this review and realizes that the people in line noticed her kindness. You’re wonderful!

We go here for lunch a lot. The pizza is really good. It’s good homemade-style pizza, and the toppings are premium. The pastas are really good, and the staff is really nice and friendly.

The pizza is good. Really good. The issue comes to order taking and actual preparation and timing of the pizza. Many times something gets lost in translation. A thin crust becomes regular. Double pepperoni becomes regular. Twice baked becomes half baked. 40 minutes till ready is actually 20 and you have to reheat it in the oven. I understand it can be extremely busy here as the pizza is really good. But it was a slower night. Not that difficult to get the order right.

We went for the first time after hearing so many good things about Maria's Pizza West. It was amazing. We started with just a slice each and after the first bite we ordered a medium to take home with us. The staff were so friendly and even gave us a piece of dessert for my wife's birthday. Will definitely be going back next time we go to Brantford.
