I recently stopped into Strodes for the first time. The pork butt I picked up turned out excellent on the smoker with the Meat Church Honey Hog rub that I also picked up at Strodes. I'm not sure Meat Church rubs are worth the high cost but they are quite good.
I also picked up Honey Garlic and Italian sausages. This is where I have the problem. The sausages aren't good. They had lots of inedible chunks in them and one of the honey garlic was another flavour that wasn't honey garlic. The Italian sausages also had chunks in them but the flavour was way off. I can't recommend the sausages. I grabbed some pepperettes and they were excellent. They had great flavour and were nice and dry.
Strodes is an interesting store with a little bit of everything. Their cuts of meat look great and the pork butt, as mentioned, was excellent. The vast selection of rubs, sauces, smokers and grills is great. The folks working were really friendly. I'll most definitely be returning but I'm going to be skipping the sausages.

We took our cat to the vet near them and as we were leaving we both smelled something soo delicious, turns out they were just finishing cooking the ribs. We ended up buying a rack to try and omg are they the best ribs we’ve ever had. I’ll never go back to buying from grocery stores, I’m the type that won’t eat a lot and I was able to eat half. We’re definitely be going back to buy more.

We had the pleasure of having a BBQ catered by Strodes this afternoon. The meal was fantastic, great portion sizes, and was well organized, with no cleanup required. We'll definitely be booking with Strodes again!!

I was really impressed by the selection of BBQ and smoker equipment that they carry. There is an entire wall of sauces and marinades to try. The prices of the food is reasonable. The customer service that I received was great. There is a large selection of fresh meat. Considering that this is a butcher, I did not feel like the storefront was overly cold like other butchers. The line up was very long and busy, but moved efficiently. They have an excellent selection of pre made food for affordable prices that are available from 11 am - 5 pm. I will happily return.
Update: Cooked the sausage and had the same issue. Dried out. Im sorry they are upset with my review. I am a huge proponent of supporting local. But i just can't. Sorry. I bought the smoked ribs, chicken wings and sausage. We had the smoked ribs for dinner tonight. Cooked them in oven on 250. They were rubbery and the ends were like paper. Won't buy again. Sorry.
If the owners want, I will come in. I am not hiding.
