I would suggest stopping at one of the other chip trucks.

We went 2 days ago and I became extremely ill. It may have been a one off but the gravy tasted off and I regretted eating it. The hot dog I never ate because it didn't look fully cooked.

Again would not waste your time.

Not busy and missed gravy on the order of fries.

Ordered Fish n Chips with gravy for $11. The chips were the typical chip truck tasteless fries but the gravy saved the day. The fish itself was good but they can sure learn something about batter. I think it was twice fried.
But, the lady serving me was very nice and friendly and the price was good. I'll still give them another try.

Says open at 11. We were there at noon. Sign says back at 11. Still closed

This is exactly what one would expect of a chip truck. The fries are on point and exactly as you expect. I like the fact they don’t salt the fries for you and allow you to do that with shakers after your order is ready. They also have spritz bottles with white and malt vinegar.

Parking: Many open spots that is shared with the supermarket.

I love this chip truck and have been going here since the previous owners. I just had the worse experience there. The older lady serving tried her best to rectify the situation the slightly younger women created. I gave a $6 tip and I had to wait for an extra 15 minutes for my order. The server decided not to put my order in because I explained I was running to wild wing to pick up my wing order and be right back. She didn't appear to like this, stating she didn't want to give me cold fries. Which they wouldn't have been because wild wing met me at the door. My wings were now cold...SMH.
Wasn't worth the $6 tip. Not sure I will return, sadly.

We have always wanted to atop here and try their chips. I'm so glad we did. We got chicken fingers & fries, fries with gravy, sausage on a bun, and a poutine. The lady was nice and even asked if we wanted salt when we got our food because they don't salt anything. For someone who has issues with sodium....I thought this was amazing!! Their fresh cut fries are delicious. Pouting was mid, I know I read reviews about how it's shredded cheese, but I still wanted to try it. It was still good. The chicken fingers and the sausage on a bun were also good.

Parking: Foodland parking lot.

On our journey to try every chip truck between Toronto and Haliburton - we finally made it to the famous Brechin landmark - Captain Jack's! Located right next to the big Grocery store and just past the train tracks on Hwy 12 - Captain Jack's is a family tradition stopover for a lot of people going to or from their cottages. We pulled in on a scorching hot day in September hoping to grab a bite and sit in the shade. Unfortunately, there were only a couple of picnic tables set up and no umbrellas at all for shade. There is a big grassy area next to and behind the chip truck and a pretty clean porta-potty nearby as well. We ordered a medium poutine ($8.50), medium onion rings ($8) and a cheeseburger ($9). It took a while for the grumpy ladies who were slaving away over the grill to get our order ready - but was it ever worth the wait! Fantastic tasting poutine, nice and crispy onion rings and a perfectly grilled cheeseburger that was absolutely delightful!! We went across the street and ate our food in the LCBO parking lot in our car in the shade of a big tree - it would've been nicer to have eaten it on the grass at the chip truck but it was just too hot. Really good food - I understand why I have always seen so many people stopping there for a bite! Highly recommended and we will definitely return!

The burger had no flavor unfortunately. I think they believe that condiments will make up for that..... unfortunately not. Maybe some garlic, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper in the patty next time with a little lemon and lime. ??
