I phoned in an order last night for 3 pieces of fish and fries. I called at 4:47 and was told to pick up in 15 minutes. I arrived at 5:05 and got into the lineup. There were 2 people working in kitchen and one lady working front. That is for packing orders, answering phone, serving in restaurant, busing dishes and running cash. I was fine with how busy it was and a bit of a wait in line. HOWEVER, one man came out and packaged up 1 order for a man ahead of me then went back to kitchen. I watched him tell the woman there was now line up out the door. She acknowledged me waiting at cash register and asked me to give her a minute. OK. I then watched her take plates of food to customers at tables while my food sat in open boxes on the shelf. There is no heat lamps to keep food warm. She then collected dirty dishes, then cleaned up the counter by pop fridge. A lady actually walked up to hand her $2.00 for a can of pop she opened. Apparently the second can of pop was not opened and the two ladies could not wait any longer for someone to take their order. The customer said sorry I have an appointment and cant wait. All the while my food is sitting open, on ther service shelf, again with no heat lamps. By 5:17 the lady still had not taken my money at cash or asked what I wanted. Nothing. By 5:20 I wondered just how cold and gross my fish and fries were going to be since I had already stood there looking at the open food sitting there. This is so wrong on at least 2 levels. 1. Who wants to pay good money for food that has been sitting out at room temperature for 15 plus minutes? 2. Are there no safety violations leaving food prepped out in the open without heat? Where is the food inspector? The owner/manager could clearly see that the sole women was overworked and also gave off an appearance of really not caring about the line stretching out the door, or the fact that prepped food was sitting waiting. His priority appeared to be to tell her and the cook what to do and arrange orders on the board. He looked at the unboxed food and not once did he come to front to help further. This was absolutely disqusting. I have seen people posting that they are looking for work and nobody calls back. We are post covid and people continue to accept dismal customer service. Can this restaraunt not hire help? Or they don't want to pay wages? I was so extremely pissed off by 5:23, watching my food sit there for nearly 20 minutes by this point, I finally walked away. There is NO EXCUSE for having a customer wait 20+ minutes at the cash register for a pick up order and not once during that time being asked for cash or pick up details. It was even more sickening watching the food sit there the whole time, which eventually they would have been happy to package and take money for! Needless to say, I had a few choice words and walked out with food still not being warmed or packaged. I actually called Captain Georges in Trenton. The had the decentcy to say it would take 40 minutes. I drove to Trenton. Food was ready at said time, was packaged and ready to go. I got it home and it was still warm, looked presentable and larger pieces of fish. I do not know what happened to Brighton, but you are best to drive to Trenton if you want service! And seriously, the health inspector needs to revisit.

Disappointed to see the portion side of the fish was literally cut in half at the same price since summer.

This has to be the worst restaurant that I've experienced in Brighton. I was given the wrong order, refused it and sent it back. They charged my wife for the dinner anyway. My wife mentioned to me that the windows were filthy as we were entering and some of the tables had crumbs on them. I'll never enter there again. From now on I will go to Frank's Diner, less than a block away.
