My grandson's birthday was supposed to be a huge cookie with special cupcakes and we got a tiny cookie and plain cupcakes. Not worth the 30 bucks! Will never buy from here again!

I was passing through Brockville ( pretty city)
I stopped in to Taits. Sam was patient and excited to share all the highlights of this great bakery and lunch counter. The lunch special was delicious! Light fresh sandwich on fantastic seedy light rye, the soup was packed with veggies and the coconut cream pie was worth the drive alone!! ( I’m an hour away) I look forward to trying their subs and more pies( they have many) what a treat.

Very disappointed that I could not order a Charlotte Rousse cake for my mother-in-laws birthday even while giving more than 72 hours notice when the website requires 24 hours notice for cakes. We were told it’s a “seasonal cake” and that they don’t have the lady fingers to make a Charlotte Rousse cake (even though we had this cake (without lady fingers) over a couple of weeks ago for another family birthday we attended). We asked if it could be made without the lady fingers or a simple white cake with the same Charlotte Rousse frosting, we were told “no, he’s shaking his head no.” I assume the baker or the owner? Either way, there was no effort made to fulfill an order. The lady on the phone was polite and apologetic, but this is not my first disappointing experience under its new ownership. Unfortunately, we won’t look to fulfill our cake orders here moving forward nor be back for lunch. Although I agree with some other reviewers that the prices are higher than other places, we always support local and Taits has been part of our family tradition for years, but we’re moving on.

Nice bakery and good delicious pastries. We enjoyed a couple different pastries just before enjoying the nearby park.

Parking: Parking is hard to find most days but it is work walking to this spot.

Their bread is fresh, soft and delicious and their cinnamon rolls are to die for. Service was alright but during the rush on the food service area the other cash register got left alone. Over all highly recommend if you are downtown!
