I don't like to compare, but oh my god, I really felt a huge difference between the two Hamilton locations. They're 100% superior in every way. But I won't be going back to this one specifically, and it's a shame. I thought they were all the same in terms of quality, service, and atmosphere, but no 👎😢🥺

The service was the worst service I have had in a long time very slow they would bring two things, and then we would have to wait almost a half an hour for more well, the other side of the restaurant had full tables with lots of food not sure what happened tonight, but was not impressed

Smoked salmon tataki was memorable. They also improved the curry squid and chicken feet so it’s delicious now. The chefs are artistic in plating.
Lava chocolate was disappointing, dry and bland.
I like the dance music they had and appreciate them dimming the lights.

Food was tasty but the sushi pieces were way to big for one bite, was very difficult to enjoy. We didnt get our tea and drinks until the end of the meal. However they did let us take home 5 sushi we had left over which was very nice of them.
Parking lot can accommodate more vehicles. Entrance offers a ramp which is convenient to persons with disabilities. My hubby and I were there as they opened on a Sunday morning, we were welcomed with great hospitality, seated quickly and we started our orders. As I’ve dined in other August 8 locations, I’m familiar how things go. However, I mistakenly ordered drinks which were not included on the menu for “All you can eat.” The server was very respectful and obliged to cancel the order. We enjoyed our meal. All the food ordered from the menu was served with high quality ingredients, tasty and full of flavour. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

I’m a regular customer at August 8, and when you visit a luxury and expensive sushi restaurant, you expect things to be perfect every time. Unfortunately, during my last visit, two things were disappointing: 1. EVERY TIME we tried to order, the tablet was locked. We had to wait several minutes for a server to unlock it, and once it took over 10 minutes because everyone was busy. This made the experience frustrating as we order in portions and every time the tablet becomes locked again!. Before leaving, I asked one of the servers why it kept happening, and she said she could change the settings to keep it unlocked. I was surprised. why wasn’t it set like that from the start?
2. Some items have dropped in quality. For example, the custard buns and choco lava buns used to be filled and soft inside, but now they were dry and overheated (check the pictures). This is by far the worst chocolate lave i ever had.
I really like August 8, but I hope they fix these issues soon. the experience and quality used to be much better.
