I am the one buy butter croissant every single day past one month. I am in my first trimester and thats the only thing i can eat in breakfast right now. Its the best croissant I ever had and the breads are so good as well. No can’t go wrong with Cobs.

Overall I had an amazing customer service experience at this store as a first time shopper. I had never gone to a cobs before but my sister brings some to every family get together so I thought this time was my turn. There were 2 young employees there on a Saturday afternoon and asked how I wanted my bread to be sliced and when I said “wait there are options” the shift manager (I’m only guessing they were young with black hair and some really cool piercings) came up and asked if I had been there before and when I mentioned I hadn’t they gave me a full rundown of everything in less than the time it took to slice the loaf of sourdough (which was fresh and delish!) I was only intending to grab one loaf of bread but just by chatting, looking at the options, and trying a sample I left with more than double what I intended and couldn’t be happier! (Also I went home and signed up for their point system because of the employee which I rarely do after a first visit so that’s saying something).

I ended up grabbing a loaf of the sourdough bread, 6 mini cinnamon rolls, and 6 butter tarts all of that only set me back $25 (which would be about the same price as Fortinos if not more these days).

I do have one complaint and it’s 100% my own fault but the butter tarts aren’t idiot proof (idiot here ?‍♀️) and I ended up with raisin instead of plain the rest of my group didn’t mind the mess up but I was distraught.

Parking: It’s part of a huge grocery store/strip mall combo on Dundas.

I have no problem paying $5-6 for a croissant, they are delicious. The following is simply my opinion, I respect others may not agree, but what upsets me is going right before they close, or any time sooner, and still having to pay full price. I asked why, and the reason is because they donate everything unsold to charity.

5 years ago that would have made me feel great. No problem.

Except it's now 2024 and us working middle-class are harder off than ever. I could afford to come and drop $40 on some bread no problem in 2019, things were great.

Today I had to only get one croissant and one scone as I was unable to afford more.

Thats capitalism, I could have gone to Longos and gotten 6 for cheaper?

You're correct, and I have no issue with that. What I do have an issue with is knowing 10 minutes after I left, having struggled to get enough extra cash together after spending $100 on gas, $150 on groceries and $50 on dog food in the same plaza, and this was just one stop!, that someone else would then be getting all those scones and croissants I was unable to afford for free 15 minutes later.

I get it. You think you're doing this great thing and again 5 years ago we'd be all about it but I speak for the middle-class when I say we no longer care what charity you're giving free stuff to and we don't need to be reminded on your bags in printing either, when we no longer can even afford it ourselves.

The Bagel Barn, for example, does half price after 3pm or whatever. Why not do this and allow the people who work hard to be able to afford baked goods for their entire families for a discounted price instead of virtue signaling me out of the establishment like you did today?

Again, this is my opinion, I am only one man, and I respect anyone who feels differently and if you have no issues paying full price just remember you are truly blessed to be able to afford it and I wish you all the best as with everyone else.

Industrial bakery disguised as artisan. It is just ok for people that has never tried bread outside of North America. Also pretty expensive.

The lady that helped me was so helpful! I went in to get a few things and walked out with so much more since she took the time to go through options with me for my kids with a number of allergies. Really appreciated the help. Cobs always has the freshest and most delicious baked goods.

Went in with my kids and the woman behind the counter was so friendly. I asked if they had some thing specific - they were out. Picked out something else out for my kids , she wished me a happy Mother’s Day and said it was on the house. She made my day. I wish I got her name. Thank you, whoever you are. Great service.

Delicious but quite overpriced. $9 for some dinner rolls is a little out of touch.
