the pricing is ridiculous 15.95 for one piece of battered fish and it was mainly batter asked for sweet potatoes fries got regular fries. coffee was awful so strong. my hubbie had 22.00 meal with a grilled fish no bigger than 3×3 and a garden salad mainly Lettuce one piece of tomatoes and 3 pieces of red onion. never going back!!!!
at the markham and kingston road location in Scarborough, The male server was very rude with my family on family day from not allowing us to chose the table we preferred although the restaurant was empty, to rushing us to order, to acting surprised when i asked the dishwasher to get his attention to clarify my order which was placed at the table when i was in the washroom. The fries were very hard and not tasty. For 21$ a meal this is not the service/customer treatment, or quality of food one would hope for or expect. It seemed he was giving an ungrateful attitude for our business. He even said "dont come back if this is how you behave" when i called him out on rushing us to pay, when i let him know i will pay now but not be rushing myself to finish my meal at any point soon. I tipped very miminal, because it actually felt like he didnt deserve a tip at all for his unaccomadating , impatient and impolite attitude..Good luck. I really hope this location does something about the poor customer service skills of this man, because this isnt a new issue. He was rude and unaccomadating last time to even a few years ago, this restaurant wont be able to stay in business very long if they treat all customers in such an ungrateful manner.
Good food, good service.

Always great food from this location. Fresh, hot and large portions. Excellent price for 2 meals less than 40.00. Location is busy but it runs smooth and without fail.

my first time trying the halibut house really impressed I ❤️ there french fries really delicious food 😋 😍
Halibut House is a great place to enjoy halibut and chips at a reasonable price given the serving sizes. Jose will cook your fish with a light batter upon request. It is tasty and can be enjoyed with coleslaw, french fries or sweet potato fries. I highly recommend the battered mushrooms in advance. Cheesecake selections from The Cheesecake Factory are available for desert.
The atmosphere is comfortable but a little spartan as is the norm in most f & c establishments but Jose and the other members of staff make it a warm and welcoming experience.
In an era when the art of properly cooking fish and chips in general appears to be declining, as is the portion size, this location of Halibut House is a welcomed exception.

Tables and chairs are well spaced. You don't feel cluster in this restaurant. The price is low for breakfast special. The price for fish and chips is competitive. Only one waitress but she does a good job. I gave her tips.

My wife and I stopped by the Halibut House in Burlington today for a late lunch. We were served by Josie in a very friendly and professional way. Both ordered the lunch Halibut which was really good, cooked just right. The accompanying French fries were fantastic hot and not overly cooked. We've been to some Halibut House restaurants over the last couple of years and find that this one in Burlington tops them all in food, service and atmosphere
Parking: Lots of spots right in a mall.

Food is good but the service is terrible. I wish restaurant owner trained the staff properly & don’t go for cheap staff.

Fantastic fish and chips! Batter was light and crispy, fries were perfectly cooked. Tartar sauce on the table. We got our food fast and it was delicious. Friendly staff and good service. Excited to come back
Kid-friendliness: Kids menu and we brought our baby in the stroller
Wheelchair accessibility: Automatic door to get into the restaurant, however I did not go into the washroom so I’m not sure about the accessibility there

We stopped eating at Halibut house because of horrible experiences at the Dundas and Walkers Line location. They were so bad we didn't go for years, and then gambled and gave this location a try, and we are sooooo glad we did .
The food had large portions, tasted great, was hot, golden and crispy. I had 3 special requests, malt vinegar, lots and lots of tartar sauce, and extra salad dressing. They generously accomated all requests. The even thoughtfully taped all three salad dressings together so they wouldn't spill.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, which is a rarity these days.
Keep up the great work, we'll see you again soon!
