Our office orders out from Jack Astors often. The portion size today was disappointing. This cost $30..

I searched for restaurants decorated for Christmas and Jack Astor’s came up. I checked out the menu, festive drinks, etc. and wasn’t disappointed. So Friday, December 5th, my very great friend, my youngest sister went here for Christmas cheer. Indoor was incredible, lit up with an amazing variety of Christmas decor, a lot old school, which I love brings back memories from my childhood. Cudos to the staff for a fantastic display. Waitstaff had Christmas hats, sweaters on, loved that.

We were immediately welcomed by a hostess who showed us to our table. Our waitress Aubrey, brought our menus. She’s so welcoming as well, very sweet, personable, knowledgeable about the food and festive drinks plus very attentive. Aubrey is a definite asset to Jack Astor’s 10/10!!! Thank you Aubrey you made our day, we had an amazing time.

Aubrey brought our water. After perusing the food/festive drinks menus we were ready to order.

I decided on crispy battered fish tacos with shredded cabbage, green onions, cilantro, pico de gallo, chipotle aioli. Crunchy very light, so very delicious.

My sis had chicken finger, fries and a dip. She liked it.

My friend ordered Poutine - fries, cheese, lobster, bacon, scallions. She loved, it was delectable.

I had a Nakatomi Tower: Polar Ice vodka, Kahlúa, chocolate milk, whipped cream, chocolate sauce. My gosh, what a very delicious, chocolaty, heavenly festive drink.

My sis had a Sleigh My Name: Olmeca Altos
Tequila, spiced pumpkin, apple cider, lemon, almond syrup, brown sugar with a tanjin rum.
She said it was strong but she liked it.

Deborah, who I think is a Manager, I apologize if I got that wrong, approached our table to welcome us, see how the food was, have a chat. She as well, was very attentive, a wonderful, sweet girl. Another big asset to Jack Astor’s. Thank you Deborah you as well made our day. 10/10

Overall a definite must for a very festive lunch/dinner, or anytime of the year, great selection of food, drinks, great service. So much fun with staff. Thank you. We’ll be back in the New Year.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I have been to this location several times, and I have been disappointed with the food quality on more than one occasion. I think it’s mid range as far as meals are concerned. Nothing has made me say, wow that was great, which I have actually had at different locations of Jack Astors. There seems to be a disconnect between franchises. Example, at other locations, the food seems to be more home made, and fresh. At this location it tasted more reheated. I had the fajitas, and the chicken was chewy, and not fresh. Even the toppings seemed like they were out of a ready made bag. At other locations, completely different, even down to the fresh chopped lettuce and fresh shredded cheese, you can tell, not out of a bag.
Service was ok. Our waitress disappeared for 40 minutes while we were eating, guess it was her lunchtime. So we didn’t get extra drinks or even napkins. Unfortunately I think the experience was bare minimum. So I likely won’t be back.
There is definitely a stark difference in quality between the same franchise and I see this now. I’ll stick with my top choice which is Newmarket.

Amazing food and delightfully comfortable atmosphere! Our server Jenn was absolutely amazing! Very professional, attentive and patient as there were 6 of us with a few separate bills. My sister asked for no plum sauce to be sent with chicken fingers as my niece is very picky and Jenn happily obliged. Prices were a little high as I paid $50 for 5 pieces of bruschetta (app) 8oz glass of wine, coffee and cookie mixed with brownie and a scoop of ice cream. Prices are high everywhere however I was willing to pay as the food was delicious and staff were Amazing! Bathroom music was really loud. Couldn't hear my cousin talking while I was in the stall. Would recommend!
