I am shocked this place gets any stars. I took my Mum here for the first time at the beginning (approx) of December.
We arrived around 1:30. I was in the mood for homemade type food - and the reviews quite good. How could we go wrong?
One other couple in the restaurant- that was it.
Sat down, got the menus. Ordered tea and coffee to go with what would next be an ordered meal.
Asked a couple of questions about the menu . New staff didn’t know so called over another staff member (owner??? - no idea). Attempted to place our order but was advised NOTHING on the lunch menu was available. Only a few breakfast items. It WAS 1:30pm!!!
I showed my disdain and said we were not staying. I asked why we’re not advised this when we placed a drink order. All I got was a smile.
We were charged over $6 for two drinks and I basically threw the money their way and walked out and said as I walked out the door we will never come back.
I have NO idea what was going on that day, why a family restaurant offering typical family style food did not have one single item to offer, and why were they even open for business?
At the very least , they should have apologized and offered us a tea/coffee on the house.
Even tho the wait staff were friendly, I will NEVER go back. It was so disappointing.

The new management should IMMEDIATELY change the restaurant name as they are tarnishing the name of Luk's Diner, which was a staple in this community.

The server did not know what was available on the menu and had to ask the chef multiple times. The food was beyond inadequate compared to the old Luk's Diner. They are banking on the hundreds of good reviews from the previous owners, which does not reflect the current nature of this establishment.

I highly recommend you attend this establishment if you are looking to be disappointed.

If you like your club sandwiches with 3 slices of Wonder bread, a tiny piece of chicken, and 2 bacon strips for $20, this is the place for you. Bonus points if you enjoy it when your waiter/waitress doesn’t know what’s offered on their own menu.

The old Luk’s diner is gone, really sad to see. I do not recommend going here in the restaurant’s current state.

Ordered Fish and chips and both were underdone. Eventually just put fish in garbage. Front door was very dirty and place smells like a hair salon from next door.

Sadly a table of 9 pre booked took 90 minutes to be served. We were all served at different times.

Extremely disappointing breakfast experience. The service/ server was terrible. She was not hospital in anyway, if anything very standoffish and exhibited poor customer service skills. The food was brought to the table one dish at a time. By the time the first person was half way done eating the other persons food was being served. I waited 20 minutes after my husband (who was first to be served) was finished eating his food before I got mine. I ordered eggs benedict ... it does not take 45 minutes to make that. The food was barely hot, poor flavoring and very underwhelming. Other tables left because of the poor service. The place was also so dirty. The bathroom was disgusting, dried food left on plates, dirty silverware. Such a disappointing experience.

Horrible experience! No heat! There was a long time span between each order to the table. Had to request cutlery and napkins. Condiment containers on table were not clean. Washroom definitely needed cleaning. Definitely would not recommend this restaurant!

We heard about the new menu items coming out and were blessed to try them. The Chef has deep culinary skills and recipes for many worldly dishes. A real treasure of cooking from the heart. Have had many breakfasts here with my family and am excited for things to come from the Chef.
A great addition to the community offering broad selection of meals and drinks and fresh home style cooking.
We wish you could taste the photos to truly understand the freshness and attention to detail/art of the Chefs cooking. Expand your culinary horizons and chat with Nav about what you like and how you would like it (mild, medium, spicy, sweet, hot, cold, etc.).
The Lamb was carefully sourced as it was fresh and tender. The Curry for the Lamb had just the right amount and blend of spices and was served medium-level as we requested.
The Basmati style long grain rice was also cooked to perfection. The Fish Pakoras were unlike anything I have ever had and paired well with the spicy mint sauce. The batter was perfect and the Tilapia fish inside the Parkoras were meaty and juicy and not dry at all from frying. Its some kind of magical process. Served over a bed of fresh crispy green peppers and red onions.
The Naan bread is incredible and not too thick and chewy like some other places. Adding garlic to the Naan turned up the flavor! The Naan really pairs well with the Pakora (Iike a fish taco), and the Rice and Lamb and Curry and Biryani too.
To top everything off we had the fresh, hand-crafted cold Cheese/Milk dessert (Rasgullas/RasMalai, I think) and hot Indian Hot Syrup-Soaked Donut Holes (Gulab Jamun, I think).
We wish Nav success in his endeavor to share these tastes with us all. Give it a try and be understanding with the work and effort it takes to bring us fresh, high quality, home made family foods.
Sorry there are no pics of the Fish Pakora because we were fighting over eating them all so fast (careful, hot) we forgot to snap a pic. Next time we will.
The portions were generous and great value all around. Took out the leftovers and kept eating them for another meal or two.
ENJOY!
PS-Still serving all the breakfast/lunch traditional favorites too and we think the diner will be open later. Don't forget to take a break for yourself, Nav ;-).

Vegetarian options: So many vegetarian options, use your imagination and ask Nav.

Parking: Tip: Best to leave via South Exit/Traffic Lights if you need to turn left. Leaving via the North exit is 1way North.

Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and clean washroom.

Awesome Indian food, had lamb curry, lamb biryani, Fish Pakora as well as Garlic naan. It was all astounding espically the pairing between the naan bread, lamb and curry.

New owner nav is very kind and makes sure he knows exactly what you’d like as well as a fast service.

Booths are cozy, great hidden gem if you’d like fast service with great food. Huge portions !!

Ps, breakfast is great too!
