I recently visited Mikado Japanese Restaurant expecting a more elevated dining experience given the higher price point. The food was decent—solid Japanese classics prepared adequately—but it didn’t quite reach the refined level I hoped for. One big hiccup was the temperature; the front door in that open vestibule kept swinging wide—our waitress was lovely, always rushing to close it, but something’s clearly wrong with the mechanism. Lovely lovely spot with friendly staff and tastey food. Ive only had their vegitarian sushi but can say it is delicious. I appreciate the layout/ decor that is calming and spacious.
We got takeout trays for my mother's birthday today, and the quality was exceptional as always. Everytime we have dined in or gotten take out at Mikado, the service and food has been amazing. I have personally tried many sushi restaurants around the GTA, Niagara, and KW region and I can confidently say that Mikado has the best quality sashimi and sushi around. Everything from taste and freshness to plating and presentation is top notch.
