The food at Pepe and Lela’s Eatery is tasty and the service is excellent — the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and overall we had a positive experience.

That said, the menu is quite limited, especially if you’re dining with kids, and the pricing feels a bit steep for what’s offered. For example, I was charged a dollar for an extra tortilla, which struck me as penny-pinching. As someone who is Mexican, tortillas and salsa are a staple that should come standard with any authentic meal.

Still, the warmth of the people and quality of the food made the visit worthwhile — I just hope they reconsider the pricing and expand their options.

First time at Pepe and Lela’s and it did not disappoint! We were lucky enough to have Amanda serve us and she was great - just like others have said. The food was excellent! It truly is authentic and delicious! I will be back!

We definitely enjoyed our time at Pepe and Lela’s where both the food and service are exceptional. We were six people and we ordered 7 margaritas and a hibiscus flower lemonade. While the lemonade was good, the margaritas were exceptional. We also ordered a number of appetizers such as the chips trio, sweet potato fries, and mango salad - we found these to be decent but nothing special. The mushroom and the chorizo fundidos, however, were fantastic and the tortillas they’re served with are delicious. By this point we were already stuffed and still had a full order of tacos each. The cochinta pibil (pork) tacos were juicy and flavourful, and the grilled beef tacos were equally as flavourful and delicious. Our server was amazing and super patient. She explained the dishes with detail, accommodated us when we wanted to move outside. She served our churros (which are a must try and absolutely delicious) with a birthday song for our celebration.

Everything we ordered was delicious! Try the fish tacos you went regret it. Cocktails are meh I tried two different ones - lime margarita and the sangria. Wasn’t that good and they were a bit on the pricy side. I would just do water next time. But the food? Impeccable! chefs kisses!

Exceptional customer service, employees have been trained well! Food was excellent, full of flavour and a nice variety of choices. Shared a Tortilla Soup which has some interactive element of pouring the tomato base over the soup contents, along with the Fish Taco and Lamb Taco - Appreciate the food sourcing from local, organic and small scale farmers!

I stumbled upon this restaurant by chance for my birthday, and I’m absolutely in love! Originally, I had my heart set on a different spot, but fate led us here. Despite being very busy, the staff quickly accommodated us. Ricardo, was fantastic—patiently answering all my menu questions and offering spot-on dish recommendations. We savored the tortilla soup, barbacoa, and mole tacos, plus the tres leches cake for dessert—all were phenomenal, though the mole tacos stole my heart. My only small critique? The tortilla soup had a strong lime flavor that caught me off guard. To top off the night, I paired my heavenly tres leches with a carajillo—pure bliss!

Amazing place! Amanda was a fantastic server and did an amazing job with us. We had many of the tacos, the steak special, margaritas and more. Tacos were amazing! Margaritas were fantastic. guacamole was a little too tangy for my preference but that was minor.

I hadn’t been to Pepe & Lela’s in quite some time and didn’t remember much from my first visit, but I’m so glad I decided to go back. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive, which really elevated the experience. The drinks were expertly crafted and absolutely delicious.

The food was equally impressive. The corn, in particular, was packed with flavour and made me feel like I was on vacation — the taste was that vibrant and memorable. We ended the meal with the tres leches cake, which was rich, moist, and perfectly sweet.

While the prices are a little on the higher side, the quality of the food and overall experience make it well worth it. I would definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a standout dining experience in Burlington.

Went here with a friend and loved it! Bright space, lots of parking, and great outdoor seating. We had the fundido, tacos, and margaritas. Everything was delicious and portions were huge. Amanda was our server and gave amazing suggestions (and answered all my random questions). Great vibe and easy to chat without shouting. Will definitely be back!
