I hate to give low ratings but The Poacher is the one which I consider an average restaraunt. It is overpriced and the food is very avarage quality. They have small menu and I hoped every item on their menu will be a high level quality food. I have ordered Fish and Chips which was $19 (more expensive than anywhere else) and for additional piece of fish they will charge $9!. The dish came without coleslaw which should be standard for Fish&Chips. The service was OK.
We stumbled upon this gem when visiting Burlington before heading to a Blue Jays game. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. Our server was friendly and helpful. The fish and chips were perfect and the beef dip was delicious. The mashed potatoes and gravy were giving me Sunday dinners at gramma’s feels and could be a meal on their own.
This is a Great Pub! My first time there, but my mom has been going there for 45 years. My wee Irish Nana loved it there too. The food is excellent pub grub at reasonable prices and the staff are wonderful, in particular Michelle, our lovely server.
Slainte Poacher! (The Irish toast Slainte = Cheers, and means "To your health")
