I found food overpriced and not that good. Was told fish was a light batter, but in fact was beer batter and was placed on the fries which made them soggy. Waiter hardly paid attention to our table, and we waited a long time for our order. I felt like he was more interested in the outdoor patio and to people who ordered drinks, didn't give us the time of day. Would not return unfortunately.

The Queens Head Pub is a welcoming watering hole that transports you across the pond with its cozy British charm, tucked away in an old part of Burlington in a historic building. Walking through the wooden door, I was immediately struck by the pub's cute decor - plaid fabrics, Scottish and British portraits, and football memorabilia adorning the walls. While the theme is Scottish and British, the crowd had a more international flair, reflecting the pub's Canadian home. Visitors from across the Commonwealth mingled happily with locals over fish and chips, bangers and mash or a pint of ale. The menu sticks closely to British pub classics, with a few Canadian twists. On a recent visit, we enjoyed a perfectly cooked beef Wellington. It was served with mashed potatoes, a side of fresh vegetables and, of course, a rich beef gravy. A nearby table was raving about the fruit cake, saying it was particularly good.Beyond the food, Queens Head is notable for its comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. On a busy Friday night, the indoor and outdoor spaces were packed, yet remained relaxed and welcoming. Attentive staff kept the drinks flowing as patrons unwound from a long week. Pricing was reasonable, considering the surrounding area. It's a shame that The Queens Head will close its doors for good in October after years of bringing a taste of Britain to a beautiful corner of the city. Until then, locals and expats alike should stop by for a last pint in honor of this hidden gem.Kid-friendliness: Not very kid friendlyParking: Good size parking lot across the street. The street parking is a little tough.Wheelchair accessibility: Bad wheelchair access

Arrived to be told 45 minute wait due to kitchen problems. Decided to leave then told 15 minutes. Perogies plunked on table looked like they were microwaved. Not much flavour. Chicken tenders (3) heavily battered. French fries reheated? Overcooked? Ones that came out afterwards to others looked good. Never asked how food was. For the price a small side salad to go with each of these dishes would’ve been quite nice. The spicy virgin Caesars were very good and a good price point. All in all very disappointing considering that we wanted to go there, knowing that this venue is closing. Nice atmosphere, however, would not return for the food. Perhaps we caught it at a bad time, but not a good experience considering I was taking my sister for her birthday. Not a good impression.

Lovely pub and restaurant in a great spot! Food was sooooooo good. We had the fish and chips and chicken wrap and it was so fresh and tasty. Atmosphere is great and it’s not pricey either which is a bonus!

A great pub right in the heart of Burlington… steps away from the waterfront and all the downtown core has to offer. A large selection of pub style food is on the menu, and reasonably priced. They offer several types of beers on tap, as well as many other choices of libation. You can choose to sit outside on their large multilevelled patio on indoors…

We were at the Burlington Car Show yesterday and thought we'd stop in for lunch. Server told us to find a spot to sit and we did. Same server dropped off two coasters and asked if we wanted menus. "Yes"... Didn't come back. Saw her some minutes later coming in from the patio and walking off to another room. I think we were forgotten... Too bad...We left after about ten minutes...

Would not return. I have been here on a number of occasions for drinks., we both ordered the burger and fries. Burgers were so dry and tasteless. Based on the length of time to get them….probably just reheated the patty and serve. Would not return for food, drinks maybe.

visited here after the sound of music closed down. We just beat the rush. We had several beers and ordered late night chicken wings. Great service and a fun atmosphere. well worth the visit.

Disappointing Experience: Cold Food and Lackluster Quality. I will not go back.I recently visited and unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. The starters were okay, but the main courses were a letdown. The vegetables were served ice cold, the mashed potatoes looked and tasted old and were also cold, and the gravy and livers suffered from the same issue. Had to send it back to be warmed up. Overall, the temperature and quality of the main meals were disappointing. I felt cheated to be honest. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration to improve their dishes.

Such a classic, food and drinks always consistent and Susan is easily the best thing about this place. All the love!

The Queens Head is a "traditional" English pub set back a few streets from the 4 along the lakeshore. I can see why.. We were in a larger group of people and they'd decided to have an early evening meal in the pub. The staff were friendly and helpful, which ameliorated the dreadful pub food. I'd ordered the steak pie on the basis that they couldn't go too far wrong with that. The pie was horrible and I couldn't finish it - bland, dull food with no flavour and the pastry crust looked like exploded full fat cheese and was horrible. The small collection of carrots and broccoli were grimly over-cooked and were tasteless. Others at the table had the Shepherds Pie that looked very grim and was not great in taste. My wife had the vegetarian burger and it was inedible. Service was slow and I would not go back food ever again. A lot of work to be done. The tables were also grimy and not to be assumed as, “clean”. Avoid like the plague.

This place has been around what seems to be forever, but always a great experience when I go. Friendly staff and good food. Also has a patio for the warm days. Close to Lakeshore, so if you're walking around, it's a great place to stop and enjoy a quick bite and a pint.
